Here is that 870, apparently it is a smoothbore and not full rifling, so that's a bonus. [thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/RbqAO3.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/umz5LL.jpg[/thumb] It has never even had a shell innit, let alone fired, it was bought sometime 13 year ago. He bought it at auction for 400$ and he is selling it to me for 250$. I'm just borrowing it for now to see if I like it, the only thing I don't like about it is you have to have a scope to use it effectively, and my red dot wont fit, and it has a mag plug so I can only have 2 shells in the tube.
Bummer on the tube plug.
The tube plug is for hunting, most places demand you pin the mag to 2 for waterfowl. It's not too hard to take it out, the manual, which you can find online, explains how to do it. Also, guess what's just become available in Canada? Looks like the CFGC has another gun to preach evil about.

"no fun allowed" -Australia
"no fun allowed" -Australia
Pretty much. Our gun laws are written by brain dead bureaucrats
i did it
This is why I hate reality shows. Sometimes it really seems like they are choosing the most laughable human beings (side note: I don't mind people being gay at all, you can fuck whoever you like for all I care), take them travelling around the world and try to rub their differences or incompetences in the faces of everyone living there. It's not funny, It's just downright painful.
I thought that video was a parody. Oh god
What the christ, why are they speaking norwegian/danish, I thought it was an American show?
If you're going for a first handgun I'd get a .22lr. It's actually quite hard to shoot a handgun accurately and you'll need tonnes of practice
Well hold on now, I've shot multiple handguns before. Started with a .22 ruger and moved up onto a 9mm 92FS, then a Glock 17, 23, 27. I shot a USP in 9mm and I also shot a .38 snub nose. My family is huge on guns and I've shot almost all of them multiple times, I just want my own.
Washington State gun-laws. Are they okay?
Laxed in most cases. NFA Weapons*[automats and all that] are not allowed, and you may need to register certain firearms, but all around it's far from being strict. *You can still own suppressors.
I think I'll just get a .45, the 10mm seems nice and all but ammo seems a bit scarce and the .45 is a few dollars cheaper and I like target practice every few months ( and I pop off ALOT of rounds ) It wont be just for shooting hogs if they show up, it'll practically be MY first handgun and I think I might end up going with the USP that sadly doesn't come in 10mm.
Then I would go with the .45, it's a great caliber, and I'm sure if you get a hot enough load you could delay a hog with it. Best of luck, pics when you get whatever you get (My vote is for a Glock).

Again with another Washington question - On a scale from 1, being Britain, 10 being Afghanistan, how lax are the laws?

Pay the ATF your $200 MG Stamp, buy a drop in Auto or Burst trigger from Bushmaster and you're ready to party. Total investment, $300 shipped. (However you DO have to have your name and other info Laser engraved into your AR-15 Lower at least 1/16 on an inch deep.)
(However you DO have to have your name and other info Laser engraved into your AR-15 Lower at least 1/16 on an inch deep.)
Well my first name is Abraham, so that'd look fairly badass.
Finally got off my arse and found a local range. Going to go there Wednesday and shoot some fancy-lookin' .22 handguns. Seeing as Denmark has as bad as or worse gunlaws than the UK, this is an achievment in itself. :v: EDIT: Word has it they have Mauser M98's for use on their 200m outdoors range (which is unfortunately only used in the summer). I can hardly contain my excitement. :v:

Did you even what that Bushmaster page said? "Not legal for installation in anything but a licensed machine gun."
Going to the range today. MKIII, Hi-Power, AR15 and probably the AK74 (polack). I'll attempt to post pictures.

You won't find 10mm in common places like Walmart or Academy, but it should be abundant at gun shops, or larger sporting goods stores. 10mm is a good bit more powerful than .45ACP. I have some tack driving .45ACPs, but I would not carry them for hogs. If a hog charges, you want it down immediately. 10mm is more than enough to stop a hog dead in it's tracks. The Denmark government issues 10mm for defense against polar bears in Greenland. The round is more than capable of putting a hog down. Those are for repairing/replacing parts on already registered machine guns, machine guns that had to have been manufactured before 1986. You can't just buy one of those kits, register it, then drop it into one of your ARs. ATF will not allow it. If you could do that, there wouldn't be such a high premium for pre-1986 weapons.

Interesting, It just sucks they don't make a USP in 10mm but then again I do love me a nice glock.

If you were spending the funds on a USP, look into the Colt Delta Elite, they are around the same price. Nothing wrong with the Glock 20 though. I'd try and find a Glock 20L if you could.
I love 1911's but its an older gun and I'd rather have a Glock or a USP instead of a 1911.
Nothin wrong with old :v:
Nothin wrong with old :v:
Smaller mag capacity, older firing system that isn't efficient as some newer ones. Has a slightly higher chance of jamming compared to newer pistols ( SLIGHTLY ). Its a very nice gun but if I'm carrying a gun I want one that has a higher mag capacity and higher chance of firing. I do want a 1911 but not really as a carry gun, just sort of a plinker. [editline]9th November 2012[/editline] And most 1911's have a break in period, I don't want to break in my gun before I can properly use it.
Hi-Power > Glock, IMO
I've dealt with glocks, and I've dealt with H&K. Contrary to what the rest of the thread is saying, despite the price difference, I would really go for the H&K, unless price is a problem. An H&K is a damn fine gun. That being said, glocks aren't bad themselves.
