Western Australia, the state with some of the worst firearms laws in the country (you have limits on the number of firearms, the firearms you own are printed on your licence card, they refuse to recognise out of state licences requiring all visitors to get temporary licences jsut to name a few) is the only one that allows semi/pump shotguns for IPSC. Talk about annoying.

So they head out to the range, and load up 10 rounds in the magazine. We were all anticipating the noise.
"BAP BAP BAP BAP BAP"
...
The thing was still a machine gun.
We left after that, and what we all hoped is that the man got it set to a BFONG (Blank Firing Only Non-Gun), and didn't destroy it.
I hope he buried it in an airtight box deep underground, one does not simply bastardize or mutilate an MP40.
He could also just move to Wisconsin and get it registered.
Fred would probably be more likely to send him to a modern equivalent of the Château d'If for having it at all.

If it wasn't registered with the feds before the ban or during one of the amnesties, that bad boy is totally illegal and needs to be either turned over to the ATF or cut up into several pieces. That is DEFINATELY something you want to just bury in a tube and hold on to in secret.

You know, it could have been registered. Honestly there's no telling if the guy just came in and said "Hey, tell me if this thing works". I highly doubt he'd be stupid enough to bring an unregistered machine gun into a gun store, risking ten years in jail if the guy decides to turn him in.
Also, I'm fairly certain you're breaking the law if it isn't registered. Typically you don't want to post about that on the internet. Don't give the ATF another reason to throw innocent people in jail.
I'm glad that Sobitnik's thread of degraded nonsense is finally closed, though disappointed our side didn't have the final say.
