AK12 coming to the USA next year. SO. EXCITED.
Whats the expected price on it?
AK12 coming to the USA next year. SO. EXCITED.
I'll believe it when i see it. How could it be here before its even being used by their armed forces? (Unless I've missed the news...)
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2012/11/14/exclusive-civilian-ak-12-coming-2013-in-223-and-12-gauge/ No word on a price yet.
the russians wont adopt it becaue they're stubborn and izhmash is poor as fuck and went bankrupt in 2010 so they need the cash flo~~ [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] @camwi
If they come here anytime soon, I may have to set some money aside to pick one up. They look solid as hell.
AK-12 in .223 yes pls
So, I am able to buy a gun now. An Army Navy store nearby has a rack of mosins for sale for $125 with a sling, ammo pouch, and bayonet. Is this a good deal? The one I picked up has 1941 on the receiver.

If they have a tula there, go ahead and pick it up, as long as the sights aren't canted and all the serials match.
Alright so after shooting my rifle for the first time ever (woot!) I came upon the arduous task of cleaning it. I seemed to have done everything correctly (used Hoppes No. 9) but there was still a considerable amount of copper fouling still in the rifling of my barrel. I went out and got a boresnake because cleaning rods, in comparison, seemed pretty tame and lackluster. After using the boresnake and an Otis 085 UltraBore (apparently a higher concentration copper solvent) I still have tons of copper fouling in the rifle of my barrel. Here are some pictures I was able to grab of it as best I could with my camera. Any suggestions? Some folks would say that cleaning all the copper out ruins your guns zero until it can build it back up again.
So I heard from a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend that there supposedly a G36/SL-9 variant thats being designed in bolt action with a non-detachable 5 round magazine to be sold in places with strict gun laws like Canada or the UK. Sounds like bull shit to me but I was wondering it was true or not. Would actually be kind of cool to have a modern bolt action gun like that.

[editline]14th November 2012[/editline] Made for Australian Market... already banned there!!!!! LOL.
Oh I c. it's just an SL8 without the gas system, so it just becomes a straight pull bolt. meh.
Never mind, they tried to... and failed. Its apparently a Class D weapon in Victoria, whatever that means. [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] My automerge!!!

LOL.
It would never have gotten past customs as it "substantially resembles a Cat D/prescribed weapon" Technically it's only banned in Victoria (because someone from Gun Control Australia told the Victorian government it could be converted to a deadly machine gun!), but as we can't import it we'll never get one
Never mind, they tried to... and failed. [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] My automerge!!!
That means it's treated the same as an AR15 or an SKS, meaning only primary producers or contract shooters can have one. If you did have such a licence you'd just get an actual semi-auto AR15 or SKS
Poor ausies, can't even get a broken SL-8
IPSC gun
Not for IPSC, the Walther GSP/OSP is an Olympic Target gun. I want one in .32S&W because it's literally on a list of .32 calibre handguns that aren't banned here.
Alright so after shooting my rifle for the first time ever (woot!) You could also try using a cleaner with Teflon in it, like BreakFree CLP, RemOil, or Hoppes T3, which is a good idea anyways because it helps when cleaning the carbon off if there's a Teflon coating in the barrel, and it doesn't adversely affect accuracy, and have you tried using a copper/brass bore brush? Also, are you cleaning it from the receiver or the front of the barrel? Because you're supposed to do it from the receiver up the barrel, granted that's not something I do on my SVT simply because my rods aren't long enough, so I'm a fine one to talk. Also, got any more pictures of it, like more than just the barrel?
Wait, you have an SVT?
Wait, you have an SVT?
Da, Tovarisch. They cost only 5 sack of potato ($300) in Soviet Kanuckistan, but only must have 5 boolit in boolit-magazin.
I'm crying for real. [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] SVTs are $1000+ here

I'll have to look around for the teflon cleaner. From the receiver, I've read enough of the manual and of the cleaning supplies to know that doing it the other way around should be avoided because it's a no-no. Let me put them up tomorrow after uni. I went out to the range on Saturday and I keep it about it my house so it should be ready for some photos.
I'm crying for real. [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] SVTs are $1000+ here
Oh dear god just a magazine is $150 :suicide:
Oh dear god just a magazine is $150 :suicide:
Yeah, a Wartime mag is about $200 here, so is a bayonet, but a reproduction mag is only $80.
My friends got an SVT and got it for $700 so I guess good deal

Are pellet airguns also banned in Australia? [editline]15th November 2012[/editline] Oh man. They're treated the same as break barrel shotguns and rimfire rifles. Airguns srs busisness
