270 is pretty popular as a deer and goat cartridge here in Australia..
I like .270, it's a good flat shooter with not much recoil that can do a mile out in the right gun. pretty cheap too, compared to other long-range cartridges.
My coyote gun is a .270 winmag
My coyote gun is a .270 winmag
Bit overkill?
Bit overkill?
flat shooter, goes in and out cleanly and kills it dead. there's no such thing as overkill.
Although I did shoot a red squirrel with a 12ga. from ~8ft away once. That was a bit overkill...

I knew a guy that blew away a huge brown recluse in his shed with a Taurus Judge
I shot a spider with an H&R .410 once
Understandable
Your wallet may not agree
When you're getting a couple dozen pounds of fresh meat out of the ordeal, I'm not too concerned about spending a buck and some change on a bullet.
You can make some serious cash on the furs too
well it is coyote we're talking about, the meat tastes like tires. still makes great catfish bait
well it is coyote we're talking about, the meat tastes like tires. still makes great catfish bait
You've tasted tires, then? :v:
Shot a bird with my mosin once. literally just evaporated.
now that's just a mean thing to do

Pop pop pop watching birds drop
Ive shot a lizard sunbathing on a rock with a 12gauge. didnt really think about ricochet but luckily i didnt get hurt
Ive shot a lizard sunbathing on a rock with a 12gauge. didnt really think about ricochet but luckily i didnt get hurt
Why would you shoot a lizard? It's not like they're annoying creatures like birds (I hate pigeons, seagulls, and those damn swooping magpies, not sure you get them in the US)

I've almost had one of my eyes taken out by one of those fuckwits.
magpies are dickish assholes that should burn in hell. I've almost had one of my eyes taken out by one of those fuckwits.
I'm going to shoot the next one I can and get away with. Damn things always swoop my dog and no one elses
I was re-reading the St. Petersburg Declaration, and I came over a snippet mentioning the usage of musket balls that exploded on impact, and in some certain cases carried poisonous substances inside of them... I'm more interested in the earlier, but how exactly would something like this work?
A blackbird once crapped on the inside of my car when I had the top down and was working on the car. I went inside, grabbed a bb pistol and cleared the place out.
Thought you might find this interesting. Was on a FB page about trying to stop African trophy hunts, this is the kind of abuse free and rational response I got: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=557875824239289&set=a.510327185660820.138709.510323068994565&type=1&ref=notif&notif_t=photo_reply [editline]and they banned me[/editline] And they banned me... They also edited their comment to be less abusing
killing for "sport" isn't very sportsmanlike
On the subject of vaporizing small animals, try shooting a chipmunk with a 20ga. 3in self defense load. OH BOY, fucker literally vaporized in a cloud of red mist
