Yeah I don't think I'd ever shoot an elephant
I want to hunt an elephant, but I don't want to do it from a car, I'd rather track the animal myself for a few days, then kill it. There's got to be some challenge to it.
On the subject of vaporizing small animals, try shooting a chipmunk with a 20ga. 3in self defense load. OH BOY, fucker literally vaporized in a cloud of red mist
Everyone reading this thread that isn't into hunting or against firearms just took a collective dump in their chairs after reading that. But the thought of a kill like that saddens me. Maybe it's just me, but I kill only to eat (OR if there is a nasty ass hog in my back yard, fuck dem hogs.)

If I were to kill an elephant I'd have to eat it. I just can't kill for sport. It isn't right.
I generally hunt for food, although I'm not going to lie and say I don't enjoy killing foxes that encroach on livestock, the hunt is fun.
Can anyone recommend a budget, combination rifle? Ideally I would be able to get an M6 scout rifle, but that's out of my price range.

Otherwise though, I would never be OK with hunting for sport.
If I were to kill an elephant I'd have to eat it.
That's one heck of a dinner.

Went shooting today. Shoulder nice and bruised up from a bunch of 12ga and 54R. Also hurt my hand a bit when I shot both barrels on my shotgun. Kicked more than I thought (was only using 1oz #8, 2 3/4"), and cut my fingers on the trigger guard.
i had a pretty crazy dream last night a 12 gauge laptop there was a little sliding compartment on the bottom right side of the laptop that could hold up to 4 12 gauge shells a pc and home defense weapon all in one you just hold your laptop up towards the intruder and while they think you're a crazy person you press the fire key and bam no more intruder (and probably no more pc)

Personally, if there's any trophy hunting, it'd be water buffalo. They're common, dangerous, and big as shit.

They do serious damage to my uncle's house and barn, and the only reason I shot it with the 20ga. SD load was because that was the only gun nearby when I saw it [editline]21st November 2012[/editline] Other than them and coyotes, I eat everything I shoot

Just cut my thumb open trying to unjam an Makarov magazine. Fuck.
What if you had to kill someone in self defense?
I'd use one of the other 4 rounds in the gun?
What if you had to kill someone in self defense?
I doubt he uses a single shot shotgun for home defense.
Just cut my thumb open trying to unjam an Makarov magazine. Fuck.
That's what you get for questioning the reliability of the Makarov.
Oh I see. Well no, I obviously wouldn't eat a human being
That's what you get for questioning the reliability of the Makarov.
So if you question the reliability of a Makarov, instead of it proving you wrong it proves you right? Doesn't apply to me anyways though, since I own a Makarov myself and fired several magazines through it without any jamming. Love that pistol, wish I could go shooting more often.
So if you havn't heard Cabela's is doing a huge Black Friday thing in which the first 600 people have the chance to get one of these things.
First 600 In Line Get Either: Browning A Bolt Medallion 300 WSM Rifle 30" Masterbuilt Electric Smoker Pro Staff 7 10x42 Binoculars Legend 10x42 Binoculars RealTree Camo Hoodie Cabelas Gift Card up to $100
My question is, is this nation wide or per store? That rifle runs around 900~.
I wish I had a Cabelas near me.
So my makarov 9x18 is coming in this week, for my wife. I was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation for a cheaper target pratice round. i have found I couple different types and was just wondering what you guys are using.
When I had mine I shot Steel Cased Tula or Norinco

ATM the only place that I can find it for sale is from them directly at $429. Can anybody else reccomend a good combination rifle?
