Australian government just had a stroke
They would hang us form a tree if they came round for an inspection and found that, while the criminals get a few months jail for having a handgun.
What typically happens when you don't clean a gun for say, 2-3 weeks? Meaning permanent damage, corrosion, etc. Just curious.
My mother would faint if she saw me owning something like that :v: She lives in Oregon and has the biggest fear of firearms on the face of the planet.
What typically happens when you don't clean a gun for say, 2-3 weeks? Meaning permanent damage, corrosion, etc. Just curious.
You may start to get some corrosion and minor pitting in your barrel/chamber. That's an extreme circumstance though
What typically happens when you don't clean a gun for say, 2-3 weeks? Meaning permanent damage, corrosion, etc. Just curious.
If you're using corrosive ammo, it'll corrode a little bit.
What typically happens when you don't clean a gun for say, 2-3 weeks? Meaning permanent damage, corrosion, etc. Just curious.
nothing if you don't fire it every day. I've got guns that haven't been cleaned in years and aren't any more than dusty
Just crushed a cockroach with the butt of my Nagant. Stupid little fuckers.
Nothing.
It won't be nothing. At very least there will be a build up of carbon fouling
Yea I got some carbon fouling on my AK I gotta clean out. I shot it two weeks ago and I've been procrastinating.
Yea I got some carbon fouling on my AK I gotta clean out. I shot it two weeks ago and I've been procrastinating.
If they're corrosive primers then you'd damn well better thing that sucker out ASAP.
Carbon fouling wont do shit to an AK. It's only when shooting surplus, that the salts in the powder can start to stick to parts and eat at them.
The ammo box said non corrosive. The carbon fouling is pretty noticeable inside the bore though. The action is a bit harder to cycle too. I have been watching for pitting and rust and haven't seen any.
If you don't fire it for two weeks then yeah, nothing. Just clean it, no big deal. A towel and some WD-40 will go a long way.
Ima use a toothbrush and a bit of solvent
What typically happens when you don't clean a gun for say, 2-3 weeks? You should leave them lying around you house and invite her over. Film it so we can laugh
With my bolties I get lazy and just run a boresnake though them. My semi-autos I usually clean right away with a couple wet patches then the boresnake because I'm paranoid about shit building up in the gas port (and in the case of the M1 Carbine freezing up the little piston)

She's very unhappy about that as it is, I can't fathom her reaction if I purchased a semi-automatic rifle or a handgun
If you don't fire it for two weeks then yeah, nothing. Just clean it, no big deal. A towel and some WD-40 will go a long way.
using wd-40 is a bad idea
Don't you already have one or two?
Nope, I had a CZ-52 for a teeny tiny bit but had to sell it for financial reasons. I just own a Mosin Nagant and a Marlin .22WMR bolt action. It's a very sad collection, really.
It won't be nothing. At very least there will be a build up of carbon fouling
Im pretty sure he meant in storage.

semi autos are expensive to feed.. [editline]25th November 2012[/editline] 100 rounds out of the Carbine or (former) Garand feels like what 20 rounds out of the Enfield feels like
Man, if I were to store my guns like half of you do, I'd be arrested. Fucking stupid "safe" storage laws.
Man, if I were to store my guns like half of you do, I'd be arrested. Fucking stupid "safe" storage laws.
My rifles are currently chilling out next to my bed with an ammo can of around 200+ rounds next to a couple dozen boxes of .22WMR :v: I would deffs be in jail in another country by now.
Man, if I were to store my guns like half of you do, I'd be arrested. Fucking stupid "safe" storage laws.
my guns are loaded and strewn about my house canada would have a heart attack if they saw what my home looked like
my guns are loaded and strewn about my house canada would have a heart attack if they saw what my home looked like
Why would you keep your guns loaded.
Why would you keep your guns loaded.
To shoot people. I think you're responsible if someone (particularly a child) injures or kills themselves or someone else if you failed to secure your gun properly. If you have no one like that in your house though, it's not a problem
