So December 6th is supposed to be "Ending Violence Against Women" day in Canada, since this is the day that the psychopath shot up a Montreal university and killed 14 women, leading to our miserable gun laws, but of course, all it really ends up being is "dance on the graves of shooting victims to push for unnecessary gun control that would have never stopped the shooting, and try to demonize every gun owner or person who thinks gun control is ineffective" day. 870 or 500 for shotgun?
Their really both pretty equal, I've been leaning towards the 870 myself recently just due to some after market accessories. But that's about it. It's mostly really just personal preference.

offensive may not be the right word, maybe controversial?
Controversial sounds better, I see how that could be. Mostly the glocks in my eyes, I've never had a desire to own something like a baby glock, I've fired them countless times and hated each shot. That being said, if I had the money, why not buy one right?
Man, if only I were rich.
Glocks are ugly and their ergonomics don't work with me. I have little to no desire to ever own a Glock.
Small pistols just aren't any good for anything but concealed carry, but a Glock is simply too wide for the changes to make a difference. That's sort of fixed with a slim frame Glock but then you only have 6 rounds and it's just not worth it

Besides that I get along just fine CCing my full size Glock 22. I think baby Glocks fill a market that just isn't there
