If someone really wanted a concealed firearm a baby glock is always a silly option in my eyes, why not get something like an lc9 or the such, that being said, I still prefer a good ol' full frame handgun.
fuck man i want a gun that would look good in white, with MNU on the side anyone have any ideas? i'm thinking that SG works SKS bullpup, but i think i can do better
Age old question. 870 or 500 for shotgun?
It all comes down to which one I can get for less. That said 870's have more add on shit... that said I remember somewhere hearing that 870 extractors can't be taken off the gun, so if that breaks your sol... Then I also hear some people bitch about 500's and something to do with their feeding system... i don't know. Personally I'd get a 590a1 cause it's got a bayonet lug, and lets be honest, what's a shotgun without a bayonet lug.
I'd keep my 590A1 even if it didn't have a bayonet lug. It's the perfect pump gun
Gunshop I work at has got a 590 on the wall with a mounted bayonet it's hilarious.
So a Firearms Advisory Committee to the Canadian government just advised lengthening license duration to 10 years from 5 and making it so that if it expires, it goes into "suspension" and you won't be arrested for having a gun because your license expired, reclassifying the arbitrarily prohibited firearms by classifying them like every other gun, abolishing the prohibited pistol class, and getting rid of the Authorization to Transport requirement for restricted and prohibited guns. The PM stood up in the house and, probably because of what I mentioned earlier about December 6th, said "No" to most of this, namely the abolition of prohibited classes, though there is still hope that he'll abolish ATTs, and some contemplate that he's saying this due to what day it is. Also, the leader of the CSSA was on CBC today with a notoriously anti-gun host, and he said what everyone is thinking but nobody has the balls to say in public; getting shot doesn't make you a firearms expert, which is so true it hurts, because so many of these people are considered such despite knowing nothing at all about shooting sports or guns.

This cleared it up though. I don't see many of the laws changing this drastically but it's good that they are out in the open again. The more coverage the better.

God, I really wish I could do a lecture series about this at my school, but who's going to care about the opinion of an Engineering undergrad when it comes to gun control?
Yeah but yours ain't an opinion, it's the truth :v:
My Reloading supplies came in the mail! I can now reload 7mm Weatherby and .38/.357 Mag now. Anyone want pics of my presses?

I am reading Jeff Shaara's "The Rising Tide" (WW2 novel) and he keeps goddamn saying "thompson machine gun clip" and he mentioned a German vehicle pointing its .50 caliber machine gun at the Americans. Goddamn.

I don't think I will ever own a 1911. Single stack. Single action only. No thanks.
Para makes double stack 1911s
I don't think I will ever own a 1911. Single stack. Single action only. No thanks.
What's wrong with SAO? The only time you'd ever have to actually cock it manually is if you for some reason decocked it after chambering the first round. Also, you can get double-stack and double-action 1911 variants, such as the Para-Ordnance LDA.

With cocked and locked shooting the gun takes two actions, but if you have the hammer down with a double action all you need to do to shoot is pull the trigger.
As much as proper practice can help, personally I'd prefer something where all I had to do was draw and pull the trigger for it to go bang. But hey, guns are a personal choice.
Yeah, fair enough.
That's why I like my USP40 for a duty pistol. I can keep the safety off but the hammer down. All I need to do is draw and fire if it is needed, and if I simply need to draw - I do not have to worry about a much lighter trigger for any potential mishaps that may occur.

I have a Colt 1991A1 that I carry loaded, hammer down. Its quite easy for me to pull the hammer back one handed while drawing. I think "cocked and locked" is stupid... If your safety fails (as in, just like it doesn't exist.), you're in (potential) trouble. If your safety jams on the detent housing, you can't disengage the safety. Hammer down is the best carry option for a 1911 pistol.
of course striker fired is the best overall option for a carry pistol of any kind
i dont get why people don't like single action pistols. if it's a revolver, it's instant badass. if it's a magazine fed semi auto, who the shit cares?????????¿
