Did you guys know they make a .32 auto insert for a Mosin Nagant, cause I didn't. But my buddy got some and they work pretty well. If your interested I'll get a link from him.
They make 7.62x25 inserts too, I'd rather have one of those
That has got to be the most hilariously quiet unsilenced gun ever firing .32 ACP out of that long of a barrel.
It might be a tad quieter than a .22lr and it's hilarious when you load them in with 54r... makes everyone flinch.

Wouldn't an insert of any kind be... kind of sketchy? What about malformations or extractor issues?
Wouldn't an insert of any kind be... kind of sketchy? What about malformations or extractor issues?
It's basically a casing that has been hollowed out at the back to hold a .32acp round, which is close enough in diameter to a 54r to be ok to fire through the barrel.

Have you guys managed to find any super cheap 7.62x25?
It actually works pretty well, although you need to adjust the rear sight to about 350 meters for a target about 25yrds away.

.32acp isn't too bad. I just went browsing and found it on Sportsman's Guide for about 12 bucks per 50.
Wait, 7.62x25 is .32ACP? :v:

Polish stuff is nearly as cheap as x54r
Wait, 7.62x25 is .32ACP? :v:
No
Wait, 7.62x25 is .32ACP? :v:
No... I figured we could talk about both .32 and 7.62 as .32 is relevant to me because I was shooting it out of a Mosin today, so I can tell you first hand it works.

That sounds like a great way to blow up your Nagant :S
Given how hot a lot of surplus 7.62x25 is loaded. Commercial might be fine though.
[editline]7th December 2012[/editline]
Oh wait that's for the rifle. My bad. I didn't know they made any kind of inserts for that.
They make a .32 ACP insert for the Nagant Revolver, that's what I was thinking of.

Shit's all over around here, $300-$350 for 2280 rounds, I hear because it's steel jacketed the ATF take issue with it.
[editline]7th December 2012[/editline]
Also, Duck Dynasty is probably the best show on TV right now.

Makes it extra neat if that's a legit NM sight

the atf doesn't have a problem with steel jackets or even steel cores. it's just steel cores for the purpose of increased penetration (high-carbon steel)
some ranges won't let you shoot it. they claim it damages their traps, but really they just can't reload your berdan primed steel cases
and yes duck dynasty is the best thing on tv right now

From the FS post:
M1 Garand
- Caliber - .308 (Rebarreled by Arlington Ordnance. Barrel marked 7.62 NATO)
- National Match Rear Peep and Front sight
- Synthetic sling from Turner Saddlery
- 10 clips
- New Gas Tube and New Op Rod. (parts purchased from Fulton Armory)
- Excellent condition with bright shiny bore.
Dang, wish I could have one of those
I'd kill to get a garand in 7.62x54r.
I want an AVT-40
[editline]7th December 2012[/editline]
because I'm a masochist and want to completely destroy my shoulder

Do you also want to completely destroy the rifle? AVTs had a tendency to break themselves, to the point that the Russians banned their troops from using auto fire.

automatic fire will really only be for machine gun shoots anyway and I only go to those once every year at best. if anything does break, I'll just machine a replacement part
[editline]7th December 2012[/editline]
of course that's assuming I ever buy (or even find, I've still never seen one in my life) an AVT
I've seen 1 AVT and it was converted into an SVT
I'd kill to get a garand in 7.62x54r.
Ugh, why would you even do such a thing?
I want a Winchester lever in 7.62x54 and another in .303. I know they made one model in both of these calibres, I can't remember which, and I remember seeing a .303 one up for sale a few weeks ago.
Ugh, why would you even do such a thing?
cheaper than .308 and 30-06. A garand thats not expensive to shoot would be great.

It would never happen unless you massively redesigned the receiver, rimmed cartridges are a pain to work with

probably wouldn't be worth the effort, but it would be a cool thing to have.
Is K-var a reputable website?
[editline]7th December 2012[/editline]
Nevermind, all the AK74s are out of stock there. Why is it so fucking hard to find an AK-74?
Shit, I just found pics of a Garand in 458 Win Mag. That would be a sweet rifle

K-Var is a top shelf US made AK brand. On par with Arsenal.
