Are all model 700 stocks interchangeable? If so, I plan on getting a polymer one here soon if my grandfather would allow it on his gun since he never uses it anymore and it is basically my hunting rifle.
I need a Thompson to round out my collection of M1s.
Has anyone seen Family Guns on Nat Geo? The dad has some absolutely beautiful flintlocks, they're just absolutely breathtaking.

There are long and shot action 700s, the long actions need long action stocks, short actions need short action stocks

But other than that, they can be changed out?
looks like theres another gun control debate brewing in SH. Time for eurobros who have never seen or held a gun talk about gun control.

Here's hoping I can manage not to stay up until 2AM arguing with people who aren't actually willing to listen... Again...

I think it's more or less dead. Now they're discussing how justified the discussion of gun control was in the first place. Not unless someone walks right in there and sparks it right back up.

So an argument about arguing over gun control?

Give it a minute, Kopimi and Sobotnik haven't seen the thread yet.
Haven't looked at the thread in a bit, but it had like 120 new posts. I abandoned that sinking ship 3 hours ago.
yeah me too, once that guy mentioned that he knew people at the mall I thought it would be a little disrespectful to clutter up the thread, more than a few fpers are from Oregon.
Spam can came today.

Alright so if I buy this carbine, assuming it has all Korean war rebuild parts (safety, rear sight, barrel band) and I buy repro/original replacement WW2 parts from Northridge International, could I or a experienced collector friend of mine install the 3 new parts without taking it to a gunsmith?
So, local pawnshop has a M1 carbine I think (saw it at my last visit but didn't look to close, may be a mini 14 for all I know). They do trades up there, thinking of trading my WASR10 AK for it, if they go for it, y/n?

rear sight [I]may[/I] be doable by yourself, but I wouldn't recommend it. For the barrel band you'll have to remove the front sight, which is peened. rear sight is staked come to think of it actually. Safeties are relatively hard to swap too.
Spam cans came the other day.

Don't you need to remove the barrel band to remove the action from the stock, something that's part of regular maintenance?
So I think I found a sticker for my Nagant :v:

Also how much did the crate cost you?

the barrel band slides forward up to the rear sight. To completely remove it from the barrel and put on a different band you need to take the front sight off.

Yep 150.90 shipped to us in Arizona. Not bad at all I'd say and shipping was really fast from sgammo both times I purchased nugget food from them.
[QUOTE=Trunk Monkay;38796043]RR_raptor,
how goes the wood stock for your AR-15?[/QUOTE]
Haven't started it yet, got lots of work to do right now before winter sets in.
Once I get another pair of Emu eggs I'll get back to carving stuff and finishing that Flintlock.
Does anyone know if there's any surplus Mausers in 7.62x54r? Didn't the soviets rechambered a bunch of them.
[editline]12th December 2012[/editline]
Wait. Nah. I'm thinking of other rechambers of the rifle.
[editline]12th December 2012[/editline]
Israel rechambered a bunch of them to .308.
Had to throw a bachelor party for my best friend. Since he is not the wild, let's go to a strip club type of guy, I had to think of something a little tamer. I figured the range was an excellent choice for a stop that night:

Actually had a lot more magazines loaded, a few more guns, and a lot of extra ammo, but I ran out of ottoman. We shot over 2000 rounds that night. Another thing you don't see pictured was the full-auto Thompson that we shot as well.

You and I need to have a range day sometime. I mean we're only 45 minutes from each other.
What range did you guys go to?
What are you M1 Carbine owners paying for those rifles?
$8000
[editline]12th December 2012[/editline]
$450 for a post war model

Huh... 8000 dollars seems a little high, but that post war price isn't too bad.
[editline]12th December 2012[/editline]
I've heard that the Auto Ordnance ones aren't as good as the War time ones... are they worth their price?
[editline]12th December 2012[/editline]
Or are those the ones to avoid? Or is Universal the ones to ignore.... I that chart on M1 Manufacturers again!
[editline]12th December 2012[/editline]
That was more of a list of them... I ask cause I'm too lazy to find it.
