No clue. When I was in high school my PE teacher asked fr sport suggestions, I suggested Skeet Shooting. He said while it would be a good thing to do, it would be a political nightmare for the school if someone in the media got a hold of that. I'm in South Australia Anyway, that article is so fucking sensationalist. At this rate though, Queensland might revert their firearms laws, problem is though, everyone hate the current QLD leaders and it it might cause some negative publicity for Shooters
You're from South Aus, too? Im down in Alberton close to the Magpies footy club.
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411551866/Walther+P1P38 almost sub 300$, close as you're gonna get.
That's a P1, not a P38. Here's the same pistol for $320: http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?groupid=653&name=German+Walther+P1%2fP38+9mm+Pistol
So how many of you are excited for this? Also if anyone knows what it's called, what is the name of those stocks that are metal that have knobs to adjust the cheek rest, trigger pull and etc.?
I was really excited when I got to fire one at a local range, but the first shot the rifle essentially farted right in my nose, it expelled some kind on gas straight up my nose, and it was not pleasant. The gun also had literally no recoil, it was like a .22, and that actually disappointed me, I was expecting it to have some punch behind it, and it was disappointing. The best thing is they take STANAG mags, which means in Canada they'll take the 10 round "AR" magazine that doesn't need to be pinned to 5 rounds to be legal.

I thought that glitch only applied to bolt-action rifles and such.
wait wait wait what 10 round AR magazines? Because it's an AR platform, they will fit in any STANAG gun, meaning in the Tavor or AR, you can have a 10 round mag legally.
well since i wont be shunned if i get an AR, i honestly dont know shit about AR's whats a good brand or somewhere to start?
Get the Ruger SR-556, that thing is incredible.

I heard about that from another Youtube video last year when I was researching the terms of my PAL and RPAL etc. I think I also saw a video of a guy with a 10-round Tavor in Canada but I forgot what the terms were of that. Doesn't CanadaAmmo have a Tavor in stock? Ah nevermind I just checked their website. They used to have one a long while back but I guess they sold it. It's a wicked gun from the looks of it but I've yet to actually fire it. Awww shit look what I found https://www.canadaammo.com/product/detail/621/makarov-baikal-442-9x18-pistol/ It doesn't look like complete ass.
I want a cheap, fun handgun that's not a .22. Point me in the most favorable direction please.
DESSERT EGGLE
Since I'm going to get the Handi-Rifle, what's a nice cheap scope to go with it? [editline]2nd October 2012[/editline] For clarification, the gun is only going to be used at a range. I never hunt, and if I start, I'd probably get a nicer rifle.
Look at Bushnell's Banner line: http://swfa.com/Bushnell-Banner-Dusk-Dawn-Rifle-Scopes-C69.aspx These are very cheap scopes, and incredibly high quality. I've used a 710432 (http://swfa.com/Bushnell-4x32-Banner-Dusk-Dawn-Shotgun-Scope-P4162.aspx) on a .45-70 H&R Handi Rifle for three years now, and it's never lost zero.
NJ resident. Now that I finally have my Firearms ID card, I can't think of anything I want that isn't illegal. Shit. except the nugget
you want a remington 700
Actually I do The Dick's I work at has 4 of them lined up and I drool at them every day before selling 1241521 geriatric fucks their boxes of Remington Gun Club target loads Fuck
Get the Ruger SR-556, that thing is incredible.
I have heard nothing but bad things from owners. Guns that won't cycle on anything but the heaviest ammo, with the gas adjustment full open. Not to mention that, as a Ruger, and a piston gun, it's ridiculously expensive. [editline]2nd October 2012[/editline] For $1400 you can get an entry level AR and a damn fine optic to put on top of it.
Don't worry so much about brands. Most brands are more or less the same quality. Look more for features you want, but can also afford. Also, remember that you can replace a cheap upper with a better one in the future.
Not true at all. Most of your uppers and lowers are machined by the same machine shops, like CMT, LMT, LAR, and a few others. However, your internals very greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer. The biggest thing is QC of the company the gun is coming from. You also have to look at the barrels, bolt carriers, feed ramps, etc. There are some many things that make each one different from the next. SR556 is the reason I didn't list Ruger in my list on the previous page. My brother had one, and it was a trash gun. Nothing but feeding problems, no matter the ammo or mags used. He ended up selling it at a rather big loss.
You're from South Aus, too? Im down in Alberton close to the Magpies footy club.
By "too" I assume you mean Muffin. That's my little brother...

you can get a decent delton kit and maybe a cheap optic for 650 or so

AR-15s can get expensive, VERY quick. I just did a quick tally on my Colt, and I'm already over $2300. If you are looking to stay at $600, do what Buttsex said and go Del-Ton. Del-Ton Complete Upper and Lower Parts - $470 Del-Ton Stripped Lower - $120
Slightly late, but those alloy framed P1s sometimes have a tendency to be explosively dismantled. In a related story, my Garand blew up today.

It's sad that we can't get a real Makarov, and have to settle for the fake, commercial ones.

Nope I was shooting the Kynoch M2 ball I bought over the weekend.

That's still to be determined. So far the only confirmed 100% OK parts are the barrel and gas tube (and sights of course) op-rod and bolt are a maybe and the receiver is probably not.
