I have about six different guns and ammo that will go through kevlar like paper. Banning guns because it is "armor-piercing" is just something that anti-gun lobbyists latch onto. The Brady Campaign did this with the Five-seveN, despite FN specifically stating that their AP ammo is not available to the general public.
Fact of the matter is, AP ammo has never been available to the public, nor has it been banned by the US Government for sale to civilians. AP ammo is not made to penetrate kevlar, it's made to penetrate thick armor plating. Most of the time, the core for AP ammo is made from depleted uranium, along with an explosive tip to aid in penetration. It is too much of a hazard/liability for manufacturers to sell to the public, and most stores would likely choose not to carry such ammo. This is why manufacturers that make AP ammo restrict it to military and law enforcement sale only. Based on US law, it's perfectly legal for a civilian to own, purchase, and sell armor-piercing ammunition. The problem is finding a manufacturer willing to sell it to you.

I really don't get this attitude. If a kid's pretending to shoot people with a real gun or claims to know everything about everything, then yes, there's a problem, but if he's just examining them, what does it matter whether he's a gamer or not? Would you really prefer that kids knew absolutely nothing about guns, as opposed to having some knowledge and some interest?

It would take both hands and feet for me to count the guns I have that qualify to penetrate kevlar

Call of duty literally teaches you nothing about firearms other than a few names (sometimes even that is wrong) Half the time the safety switch is set to safe or is on the wrong side of the gun, and mags don't have bullets in them. If you go into a call of duty game with 0 firearms experience, you leave with 0 firearms experience.

They teach you about clips though, everyone needs to know about clips!

I'm not going to disagree with anything you say, because it's all true. However, I don't see an issue with the game sparking a curiosity in firearms, as long as the individual realizes that a video game is not a valid source of knowledge, and that what they think they may know is probably wrong.

I agree, I was just pointing out that call of duty is no valid place for actually learning about firearms.

I always get the two mixed up, which one is it?

I see AP pop up at gun shows one in a while. Mostly old .45acp and .30-06, the .308 always gets bought up real fast.
Actually I think even CMP has .30-06 AP

Clips are the things that go in guns, magazines are what you jerked off to. In the 1980's.
Clips load magazines. The more you know.

Oh good God, that top answer is, oh God my eyes.
Secure the hatches and report to your battle stations, gun control debate brewing in SH again.
With these two recent shootings, I am legitimately afraid of another repeat of the Clinton firearms ban. Pretty sure the Republicans wouldn't allow it though, unless the President issues a executive order like Clinton did.
What I never get about these situations is how the anti-gun nuts don't understand that if you take guns out of the equation, you don't take out the crazy. I'm going to love seeing in the coming weeks how the shooter was clearly showing signs of some sort of mental illness and nobody did a damn thing about it.
I'm willing to bet that the shooter(s) (some sources saying more than one shooter) stole the guns they used...

Good example of this is the recent knife attack in China. I guess the guy couldn't get his hands on a firearm so he used a knife instead, and ended up stabbing 22 children.
oh shit guys, "Close to 20 slain"-CNN
this is it, someone in Washington is going to make their move.
Guys I'm a racist because I don't like social degenerates, some of whom are black people :'(
IMO, that entire sentence was just a potshot at you.
he dodged your point completely and went right for the character assassination.
part of the reason why arguing with Kopimi is pants-on-head retarded.
EDIT
and now he's doing the same thing with Faze too, lmao.
Also, its apparently "unhealthy" to like guns, laugh now, but soon we'll be hearing it on the news and in DC.

I find it hilarious that never once in any of the Mass Debate threads on gun control have we seen Kopimi. People like that thrive on ad-hominem abuse in SH. It's disgusting, really, and apart from Smurfy's hilarious headlines that section is a load of shit.
Don't argue gun control with people in SH, not only are they extremely closed minded in their views, but they are typically very uninformed in what they're talking about. All of their experience with firearms comes from video games and wikipedia. You might as well be arguing with a brick wall. Do what I did and bail the fuck out of that thread.

I'm just ignoring it. It's already devolved into insults (though Kopimi and I have a history.) Like usual. If they really cared about talking about gun control, they'd quit arguing semantics and make a thread in Mass Debate. Because it's kind of hilarious how nobody cares about gun control until a shooting happens.

Yeah I agree. Personal attacks are a way for them to devalue your opinion.
No one is going to listen to you, even if you are right, if they heard you are a "racist".
I should mention that even White House spokesman Jay Carney said now is not the time to debate about guns. Its too soon. So you are right, that thread should be about the kids that were hurt today, not guns.
Please stay out of that thread guys, nothing good will come of it. They can sling mud at each other and dance on the graves of the dead while pushing gun control. No good will come of it if we get further involved.
Guys, save the debate for Mass Debate. Let them defuse in the SH thread and if/when they go to MD then we can get a more reasonable discussion.
But I've always wanted to be labeled a racist gun-nut conservative because someone doesn't like my opinions :(
So. Does Canada have any bolt actions banned?
