Definitely do not shoot it. That is actually a crime. Call the Police, or Animal Control next time you feel it is harassing you or your pets. Otherwise you will get in trouble.

but we spend a pitiful amount on mental health, and by the way, the number of people who suffer from mental illness is increasing in the US.

The media seriously needs to stop reporting so thoroughly on this shit. We don't need to know what the killer looked like, what type of shampoo he used, what his favorite fast food was, or what his life story was. By them reporting this on a national level, all they do is give these psychos the attention they want. Copy cats see this and try to do the same thing to get the same attention. Nowadays mass media consumes everything, and its more of a business than a public service. They only care about what the viewers [B]want[/B] to watch, not what they [B]need[/B] to watch.
The reason the founding fathers included free press is so that America would have an informed populace, French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau once wrote that an uninformed society was inevitably going to err and make mistakes. I personally believe that the all of the big news corporations have failed the American people, from NBC to FOX and everything in between.
Its a shame, really. Its bringing this country down.

There are some serious issues with that statement.
Who chooses what to show? How is this different from North Korea, Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union? How can you have freedom of press if there's someone telling you what to say?.
