Just the magazines used by tax stamp weapons, and only newly made mags at that. Otherwise they were exempt.

If you want a really accurate rifle, get an actual sniper rifle. Plus, isn't a FAL SLR fairly rare, so you're paying for the rarity.

I'm not for particularly extensive gun control, far less than any of the people who seem to occupy SH full time, but I would be decidedly neutral on measures that made extended pistol magazines harder to get.

You will have to excuse people, when public mass shootings become a bi-weekly event the conversation tends to pick up.
The only thing I can think of that will even remotely work to reduce gun crime is to make ammo prices exorbitant. Like super exorbitant. Except when purchased at a range for use at the range, for example. But that still sucks for regular responsible gun owners.
