He also says that the majority of gun owners use gun safely.
He also says that the majority of gun owners use gun safely.
And said "Gun owners don't want unstable people to own guns either". But then he moves on to talk about gang/crazy violence with some beating-around-the-bush "we're going to instate a retarded ban".
Oh lord work is about to get 10x crazier.
And here go the reporters with "Hey, here's a question that's unrelated" Unsurprised [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] My 7 is up to a 9 It's inevitable
Someone hold me.
"Let's keep talking about the Economy" [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] Compromise on the behalf of the greater good. Here we go, get your wallets.
I'm not sure if this is the right time to point this out, but one of the reasons I didn't vote for him was because I had a feeling something like this would happen.
Alright, Feinstein's bill is in the hands of Obama, we all know this. He readily backs it, and has a massive hand in Congress, some Republicans will inevitably vote for it. There is no way we're going to be safe. Let's hope it's repealed by whoever comes in 2016.
I'm not sure if this is the right time to point this out, but one of the reasons I didn't vote for him was because I had a feeling something like this would happen.
He might actually lose a LOT of support over this. I'm not too worried about him- I'm more worried about the people behind him.
Am I behind or something in his speech? [editline]19th December 2012[/editline]
He might actually lose a LOT of support over this.
I seriously doubt that. There was a massive amount of Republicans who voted for the AWB in 1994. Romney included.
I hope one of those reporters brings up the fact that most of those shootings he mentioned were probably done by people who acquired their guns illegally.
I doubt that too. [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] I've always had a pessimistic outlook on life. And most of the time, I'm right.
I don't think any Republican will defect, they'll never get re-elected. At least he mentioned keeping them out of the hands of nutters, not sure how that will work though
I don't think any Republican will defect, they'll never get re-elected. At least he mentioned keeping them out of the hands of nutters, not sure how that will work though
The AWB was to keep the guns out of the hands of nutters, too.
I doubt that too. [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] I've always had a pessimistic outlook on life. And most of the time, I'm right.
Bull, it's the ultimate optimism. Since you always expect the worst to happen, you can easily be happy when it doesn't. On that same note, if the worst DOES happen, you won't be too saddened by it, because it's what you were expecting. :v:
Well shit, of course this happens before I get a chance to save up for my own AR. Oh, and there goes my glock 20 I wanted and the 15 rounds of 10mm. This shit better not go through.

Atleast he isn't entirely blaming everything on guns.
Seriously, enough with increasing gun control shit. Here's how buying and owning a gun should work 1. No criminal background, PERIOD. 2. Check out on number 1? Buy any semi automatic you want. 3. If you have a CHL, walk out with your gun. If not, wait 3 days. Bam we're done, no stupid rules on what kind of grips and attachments one can and can't have on their weapon and mag capacity. Connecticut had some of the strictest gun laws, and guess what. A shooting fucking happened! We don't need to control guns.
Calm down guys, it wont pass. It won't go through the house because the Republicans still hold majority. If he uses an executive order, then it will be political suicide. Republicans won't work with him AT ALL for the next 3 years. That means he won't get his tax hikes on the wealthy he so desperately wants, and they may even go to the point where they refuse to pass a debt ceiling bill, and let all divisions of the government get massive spending cuts. My worried level is at a 2 at this point, because now it justifies me buying a lot of ammo and magazines.
He might actually lose a LOT of support over this. I would worry about him if I were you. He's going to push for this. [editline]19th December 2012[/editline]
Calm down guys, it wont pass.
Once again, I hope to God you're right.
in case I'm wrong, probably gonna buy 1 or 7 of these
Looks like it might be time to start buying my ar-15 now

There are several states that are still may-issue.
Dammit, should have bought those AK mags that guy was selling on gunboards. Now vultures keep snatching all of the AR and AK mags as soon as they get posted.
If the maximum size for a magazine is 10 rounds, my dream rifle just makes it... With a ten round magazine. Think about all the glocks that'll be effected, don't most have a 10+ magazine capacity?
The average is 17. Luckily, we have 10 30-round Glock mags. [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] And a 33 round.
Been reading the paper... House Rep. from Georgia, a Republican NRA rated A supporter, supports an AWB now. According to the news papers I've read the tides are turning back to 1994... I keep hoping its not coming to this but it isn't looking good.
I probably should've got more than 3 AK mags this past weekend.
Anyone know where I can find a lower for sale online? Everywhere I look they're sold out.
