Yeah, fuck felonies... OH wait, in the US that means no firearms.
Wait, will they go around removing bayonets on like SKS's and cutting off lugs on AK's and etc. still unsold in gun stores in order to be able to sell them or is this just silly?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they will grandfather all those in, considering they have already been made.
I seriously hope this doesn't go through. If it does, oh man.

Can someone school me on AR-15 barrels and why they're tapered? I don't understand why it's thicker/thinner at some lengths of the barrel.
To lighten the weight, conserve on metal, to allow the front sight post sufficient metal to be tapped on, and various other reasons. That's an A1 styled barrel, called a pencil barrel, they're the thinnest that you can get. After the A1 they switched to thicker barrels.

That's...that's GENIUS! If there are no schools, the kids won't get shot! They'll also be happy, cuz they'll get to stay home and play video games! You're gonna go far, kid. :v:
Ideally your rifle barrel would be as thick as your arm, it would be exceptionally accurate and could sustain a a lot of rapid firing before overheating, but unfortunately that would make for a very heavy rifle. So basically they make the barrel as thin as possible for the purpose you're using it.

I knew Sub2000s were prime scalping material on GB, but holy shit, those are actual bids... http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=320512081
Shit I bet S2ks are on the list too. Fuck!
To think, I seen a sub2000 sitting on the shelf at my local gunstore for 6 months easy.
http://mrctv.org/videos/protesters-blame-nra-sandy-hook-massacre-language-warning
What the fuck is wrong with that guy in the suit holy shit.
This is getting out of hand real fast.
It has been for a while. All we can do is hope that after it's instated it gets booted out by the next congress.
Would this ban affect law enforcement?
It has been for a while. All we can do is hope that after it's instated it gets booted out by the next congress.
Right now we can hope that this cools down between now and when the Congress gets back into session. If that doesn't work then we must pray you're right. [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] I didn't realize the congress reconvenes on the 3rd. Fuck.
Would this ban affect law enforcement?
Of course not.
It has been for a while. All we can do is hope that after it's instated it gets booted out by the next congress.
Seriously, calm down, it's not going to go through. By the time congress goes back into session, everyone will have forgotten about it and be more concerned with what Justin Beiber is doing and other pointless shit. If it's still an issue by then, it still won't get passed because republicans still hold majority.
Would this ban affect law enforcement?
Hahaha. No. [editline]20th December 2012[/editline] Does anyone know why the designed military blanks to produce so much muzzle flash and soot? To me it just seems unrealistic to have blanks on exercises that light up the fucking night like a supernova and produce so much soot that you have to constantly clean your weapon
