Well Gents Im home on leave for Christmas but when I go back I finish my 0331 training. The M240B is my baby, its such an amazing weapons system. The M249 is a piece of shit and the only thing I like about it is that its a belt fed weapon. I love my job, god bless the Marine Corps. Oorah!
My friend actually got back from marine training. Where do you train?
Hey man I've been trying for four years, good luck though :v:
I'll just show her my gun.
My friend actually got back from marine training. Where do you train?
Camp Geiger, NC
In training everyone has earpro, whether you wear it or not is your deal, but from what I've been told by my Sgt. is that on both of his deployments in Afganyland no one wears earpro.
I heard a lot of people are running electronic earmuffs now
Camp Geiger, NC
That where they train the Colonial Marines? :v:
I heard a lot of people are running electronic earmuffs now
When they work they're amazing, you can hear a conversation all the way down the shooting line, and then a shot goes off and it's all quiet.
Anyone ever use a Choate 10/22 M4 stock? I'm not sure, but it looks like it has an real AR-15 buffer tube on on.
I'm thinking about getting a regular Choate stock, sawing off the the butt stock, and screwing on an AR-15 buffer tube adapter.
Every damn 10/22 aftermarket stock I see has an M4 'style' stock, but I don't want an imitation. I want an mil-spec buffer tube so that I can install any AR-15 stock I'd like. The A2 butt stocks I like particularly.
tapco stocks have standard buffertubes

I've found a gun worse than the holocaust. Behold.

That goes up there with their 702 Plinkster in .22lr featuring a .50BMG muzzle brake on the end
wouldn't mind having a polymer rifle stock on it, but that's just what the fuck.
If it was just the traditional lever action stock but in a black polymer, yeah, that would be fine.
But what the fuck
Damn, makes me miss my .22 mag lever action. Thing was a blast, but my dad took it along with most other guns when he left. Bastard. Can't wait till my birthday so I can get an fid to start building my own collection.
I could understand a top rail or a polymer stock, but holy shit
That goes up there with their 702 Plinkster in .22lr featuring a .50BMG muzzle brake on the end
idk man I like the 702 you really can't do anything to it that would make me not want to shoot it
these magazine prices are ridiculous.
I thought about buying a friend of mine an AK drum as a late christmas present the next time I see him. I checked buds and a 60 or 70$ drum is 230$. How much longer until this shit dies down?
Got a couple months before the price drops again, course that depends on the success or lack there of for the ban. Would be awesome if the manufacturers increased their output even temporarily to flood the market, would be a massive fuck you to Fred but I doubt they'd be willing to hire on extra workers and buy extra equipment to do so.
yeah when the ban falls through I imagine stripped lowers will be nearly free it's going to be great
Hopefully AK parts kits will drop too, don't want to spend more than $200 on a chopped gun.
Course if Santa brings me a mill and a lathe all I'll need is a barrel. Someone find me a chrome lined 20"+ barrel. :v:
maybe santa should bring you some stuff to make a barrel too
So upset. Went to pay for my PTR91 after we closed today and were doing some stocking and stuff. NICS closed at 6 and no one told me, so I didn't get to get my Christmas present... What bothers me more is that I couldn't get my Sig that was a gift for my father. I finally saved up and this shit happens.
I'll get them Wednesday though, hopefully.
Now I'm just imagining Santa being pulled over by NORAD-scrambled jets attempting to run guns and gun equipment across national and state lines.

Don't hurt me...
Could someone be so kind as to point me in the direction of some pretty cheap and effective reloading gear? I'm interested in starting, but the high cost of the kits IE 300+ dollars, is an extreme strain on my budget, as the kits don't even include dies, or the various actual reloading items (powder, projectile, primer). In exchange.. you get my eternal thanks, and a virtual cookie. My budget is roughly 150 for reloading components, not including consumed items.
you're going to have to stretch that budget. reloading gear costs a good bit of money
1. Lee turret press kit: $102
2. Lee classic 3 die set: $21 including shellholder
3. Lyman calipers: $28
4. Bullet puller: $12
5. Lee powder funnel: $3
6. loading tray: $4
7. Lyman reloading manual: $17
that's about the cheapest I'd be willing to go
Reloading gear might be expensive, but it will make itself back in only a month or so if you shoot regularly
How expensive/difficult to find is .303? I want a No.5 Mk.1 really bad.
So today I got a very nice Christmas present from my Grandma to replace a Stevens Little Scout rifle that got stolen from my house last year. Its a Winchester model 60A-22 single shot .22 rifle from most likely 1932, because it doesn't have a serial number. Its got a very nice patina, and I'm just going to clean some sticky gunk (seems like chewing gum) from the bolt area and put an M1 Carbine sling on it. Thanks Grandma!
Relevant pic, not mine:

Mine actually has no finger groove in the stock and two small sling mounts, but other than that mines identical to it.

Not especially difficult, just relatively expensive. Expect to pay $0.70 to $1/shot. Surplus is mostly dried up, with the remaining stuff (greek HXP, really good ammo btw) costing about $1/shot (but does come on stripper clips usually which is a plus)
