So, I should have my gun licence by the end of the month. What gun should I get first?
I was thinking of getting a Savage .22LR bolt-action like my dad has, pretty nice rifle. But I can always borrow his so I was thinking maybe a Lee Enfield Mk. III* which I could get for about $400
Lee Enfields are always a good choice. Absolutely fantastic actions. The only downside is that .303 is a little on the expensive side, near $0.80/round here in the US, but definitely awesome shooters.

You could go with the Mauser M48 if ammo concerns you, it's about $.50/round depending on where you look and it's a nice and accurate rifle.
if you want cheap to shoot and more accurate than the best of shooters then you want a finnish nugget
Finnish Mosins are sooooo nice. Unfortunately I rarely see them around here.
oh and my shotgat has "901" scratched into the grip
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?????????????????????????
My grandpa owns a K98 with little swastikas etched in threes on every separate piece. He also has a nugget with tally marks scratched into the stock.

My mosin has no tally marks... Sad day.

I know they have a fantastic action, that's why I want one. But yea, ammo is on the expensive side, we pay more than $0.80 a round for it here, shouldn't matter though as I will be reloading my own. With handloads it should be down to about 0.50c a round, less if I can find some cheap bulk projectiles

Won't find it for that price in Australia, even if I can find surplus, 8mm is expensive. Not to mention they're not very cheap here

Never seen one in Australia. Seen plenty of regular Nuggets though, I'm not a fan. They're a pain to reload and the action is clunky. Some people (my little brother for example) love them, I don't. I'll get one to add to my collection when I have a lot more expendable currency, which means I'll get one when I have everything else I want.
.308 or .300 win mag Remington 700
.223 Remington 7615 (pump action rifle)
Lever action shotgun because I'm not allowed a pump
Lever action Marlin in .450 Marlin
Probably a few other things as well
I hear sierra might be coming out with a copy of the MkVII projectile, so that's hopeful for us Lee Enfield shooters.
Otherwise, I get the best performance out of flat base bullets, boat tails don't really like to cooperate with Enfield rifling.
In case you didn't know that already

That's a bit strange, how did you work that out?
Also, I found an m48 for sale... It's $1100, so no, I will not be getting on :v:
Man, you guys had to mention that James Bond used .32 ACP.
Now I can't look at the CZ-70 and not see an awesome little spy gun. I want it now :v:
If the CZ-70's the spy gun
Honestly I've gone over a bunch of reproduction PU/PEM/PE scopes at gun shows, and I can't really find anything wrong with them. I have a friend that purchased a Firefield reproduction PU scope made in China, and he says that the thing works exactly like it should. No issues with the lenses, the bodywork, or even the mounting.
Agree, people need to get in their heads that not everything they make in China is poorly manufactured, there is a reason why Apple have all of their products made in China.

Because it's cheap.
Last iPhone, holding it wrong dropped the call because you grounded out the antenna.
This iPhone, the camera lens is fundamentally damaged and causes pink lens flare everywhere.
Alright guys... Let's talk Savage. Got a 110 in 300 win mag at work that came in some time yesterday as a trade. Not sure if I should go after it or not, but it's very, very nice. From what I was told, It has an HS Precision stock, some heavy barrel from a custom shop (didn't get a chance to break it down) along with a threaded barrel (which I could put my can on,) and some custom shop barrel. I can pick it up for 500, but I've never owned a savage. I own a remington 700 in 300 win mag though. How would the savage compare?
Any opinions? Gotta know soon, I might snatch it up later!

everything he's telling me (specifically about the 7N31 armor piercing round used in the GSh-18) seems to be true compared to research I'm doing simultaneously
mind giving me his steam community url? he tried to readd me like ten times after i unfriended him and then i blocked him
Holy fuck.
I want everyone to hear the two best sounds ever.
Fire a rifle with a concrete trench just below the muzzle.
Fire a rifle while surrounded by shipping containers.
Hnnnng, it's so fucking cool. First one sounds like you got some 20mm rifle, second one sounds like a fucking imperial star destroyer cannon.

I have heard so many horror stories of replica PU scopes. About how they are made out of pot-metal and so forth.
Not sure where my replica comes from, but it is an excellent reproduction. Actual metal, not pot metal, and the optics are crystal clear.

Anyone know anything about this thing at all?
Anyone know anything about this thing at all?
Is it just a regular 110 or is it the BA? A friend of mine actually got the BA version in .300WM, and it's a very nice rifle. Thing weighs a fuckload though, turns .300 recoil into something more like .223. Only thing that bugs me about Savage is that stupid AccuTrigger. I know it's supposed to be beneficial but it just bugs me while I'm shooting.
Nevermind, just re-read your post again, not a BA. From what I've seen (picking up and generally messing with them at shops and shows), they seem to be nice guns. Never actually shot a regular 110 though, just the BA, so I can't really comment on that aspect of it.
It's the regular one, but that thing has had some heavy work done to it for sure... I've been wanting a BA though.
Why does it bug you?

Just that extra half inch of squeeze before I actually engage the trigger, it just irks me. :v:

I don't know if it affects all iPhone 5s, I've been using my friends and I haven't been able to reproduce the purple flare.
I digress though, this is the gun thread.

Ah. Well see, that's what I like. Feeling where I am on my squeeze. Weird, but just my preference!
God this thing is sexy...

Savages are excellent rifles with an industry leading trigger. Add to that it's got custom work and a 500 dollar price tag... don't buy it cause I want it.
