Spent 2 hours at the range today. Down to only 100 rounds of 7.62x54 and 90 rounds of #8 12ga, so I'll need to stock up soon.

If you had powder for 75gr bullets in there and were using 53gr bullets, it would be overpowered. It sounds to me like you need to add powder if your gun is short stroking.

The idea the gun gripes guys had in their Top 5 guns every american should own about the Ruger 10/22 being the ultimate survival weapon appealed to me quite a bit.
There are better .22s out there, but not near as cheap as the 10/22. You can get a 10/22 brand new for $200 if you're lucky.
Just be careful because they are LOUD

I think the AR-7 would fit the bill as a better .22 survival rifle, but theres nothing wrong with getting a 10/22 over it.

The way they laid it out was the idea of going off into the mountains to survive. You know how many people say they're going to do that, etc. Nice scope, BX-25's, and a suppressor and you'll be all good.
