yeah it might be for the best not for us to talk about doing stuff like that, even if it is a dumb law.

Buying it in June
AW YEAH
Pretty cool guns.. Always kinda wanted a tokarev but never wanted to deal with getting 7.62x25mm just noticed that one is chambered in 9x19mm, have fun.
Whelp, looks like I'm getting a Polish Tokarev for my birthday. Hoorah!
I was wondering, are the Polish and Romanian magazines interchangeable?

probs. the yugo ones have longer magazines and would have trouble taking both romanian and polish so you're probably fine and they're not that expensive.
Never know who's reading this
Straw-sale :v:
Well, in essence, anyways. He's purchasing it for me, and then I will be purchasing it from him via private transaction with a bill of sale.
What are the rules for private sale in AZ?
Are there even any?

I think it's just the yugo mags that aren't interchangeable

That's probably why I'm thinking these might not be interchangeable. I guess I'll just have to find out.
Honestly it couldn't be that hard to just bend some magazines out of whatever sheet metal I have lying around, basing the measurements off the magazine it comes with. I've been thinking about just trying to make my own magazines because of how ridiculous the prices are on these things. $20 for a piece of Romanian sheet metal bent into a box with a spring in it? Fuck that.

Thats the only thing thats put me off from buying a tokarev, spare magazines are stupid expensive.

there's nothing whatsoever illegal about straw purchases if the gun isn't used in a crime, I don't know why you're even bothering

I 'unno, you guys seemed kind of frizzled so I figured it'd be the best course of action.

I'm hoping they'll go down in price after this whole assault weapons ban thing blows over (1x optimistic). But if not, oh well, it's not the only gun that I have only one magazine for.
I've heard if you cut the magazine catch notch in a P38 or P1 magazine they'll work, but those two mags cost roughly the same right now so it's hardly an improvement. It'd be neat being able to interchange magazines with my P1 though.
yeah, pistol magazine cost is worse than AR mags atm, was at a price gouging gunshop and P226 mags were like 110$ a piece

Would this be a decent price, or is that too high?
I'd say it's too high, but that's the average price everywhere for TTC mags. Yugos, Rommies and Poles alike.
oh hey, Aimsurplus has some sniper mosins in stock atm, and they don't seem to be too massively overpriced.

they're frizzled because everyone thinks they're illegal
If a firearm is purchased as a gift, the purchaser must indicate the intended recipient on the transaction record. Straw purchases of used guns are not illegal, unless the gun is used in a crime with the prior knowledge of the straw purchaser.[1]
I suppose ultimately I can fork over the cash and have him purchase it as a gift for me :v:
[editline]12th January 2013[/editline]
That and is it really a straw sale if he's making out a bill of private sale to me?

If there's a bill then you have nothing to worry about. It wouldn't hurt to have him wait a few days before he sells it to you, though.
Anyone know the average price of a PSL without a scope before the gun ban talks started?
I saw them here and there for $500-$600.
Kicking myself in the ass right now for deciding against buying one all those times. They'd make fine battle rifles without scopes too.
Me too, I got a scope for one but no PSL, gonna try and pick one up as soon as the gun control and price gouging dies down.

A straw purchase IS a crime.

Buy it, shoot it once, decide you don't like it, sell it.
Done
Before the scare the one's I've seen go for like 1000-1500 if nice and with optics.

Honestly just wait for the scare then make a move, you have a POSP right?
I've honestly got no clue what it is, it fits on the rail of an AK, looks like a PSO or your typical russian scope, but it's got Russian and English on it. It's got a switch and a place for a battery, but I've stuck AA, AAA, and stacked watch bateries in there and nothing turns on. I can post pics if you think you can Identify it.
