So I've been meaning to start a YouTube series of some kind for years now, and most recently I've been debating making a pro-gun series geared towards challenging Canada's gun laws, in a similar style to AmidstTheNoise. You've all probably seen me debate in SH/MD, what do you think? Think I've got a shot? Think it would help? Think I could be concise, logical, and factual enough?
Don't slip into the weird, far-right paranoia most Youtube gun channels seem to be wont to do and you should be fine.
Oh buttfuckingly perfect, Illinois is going to pass some new retarded gun-control laws, that will require registration of guns and maybe magazines too. We should sell Illinois back to the Native Americans, they'd run it way better than whatever shitfuck gets elected. Illinois is a hellhole of crime and stupidity. Money goes nowhere but straight to the fed. Fuck Springfield, Fuck Quinn, Fuck Chicago, Fuck the Dems, FUCK THIS STATE.
Wanna move away with me? We can live in a cozy cabin together up in the mountains in Montana, shoot in our backyards, no legislators to impose pants-on-head laws against us...
-make sure you have a good quality mic -if you look like a teenager or sound autistic it's probably a bad idea -try to be concise without lots of dry info and maybe sprinkle in a bit of humor
This video may be shitty as fuck, but that's me and that's the camera I'd most likely use. The biggest issue is probably that the only editing software I have is Windows Movie Maker and I have got next to no experience editing video.
You really know your shit when it comes to Canadas gun laws, and you seem to know more about US gun laws than a lot of US posters on FP (not saying a lot but still). If you put your actual face in the video, just make yourself look average and relateable I guess, don't do a video in camo with a full tactical gear setup or anything like that. I say go for it.
I don't own any camo nor any "tactical" gear, so no worries there.
Rubbing gun oil all over- I get why are buying that cabin innawoods
could buy an AR upper chambered in .308? Or is the magwell to small or some other reason like the hammer isnt strong enough(i dont know)
http://www.classicfirearms.com/accessories/bul-akul-ps So just a quick question: When it says "press-fit barrel", does that mean that I need a press to fit the barrel onto the receiver? Because I thought that AK-47's utilized trunnions. I really have no idea what I'm doing, do I?
could buy an AR upper chambered in .308? Or is the magwell to small or some other reason like the hammer isnt strong enough(i dont know)
You can get .308 uppers, but you're still going to need the .308 lower as well. The magwell is too small in 5.56, as well as the firing mechanism is just slightly off, if I remember correctly. I looked into getting one a while ago for both hunting and comp; but decided against it for the simple cost of basically getting a completely new rifle instead of just a few pieces to swap-out like the Masada. Don't take my word on that 100%, though, it's been a while since I did the research, as I said. I may very well be proven wrong.
From /r/guns:
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but no amount of protesting is going to change the flow of this river. We are about to have a crashing at the gates and nothing short of insurrection is going to change the course of the river of tyranny. I know this sounds incomprehensible to some of you, but the best advice that I can give is to prepare to commit high treason against your own government very soon. It will be up to you to decide as free men and women. Is it worth it for you to fight to preserve the right to bear arms or will you let it slip out of your grasp in the name of "compromise" ? As for me? I can tell you that sayings such as "From my cold dead hands" and "Live free or die" are much more than catch phrases to me. They are declarations of intent.
I love classic firearms. One of the last quality places still out there I feel since me not owning a nugget, if I get one, I'm getting a PU sniper model
I thought r/guns was cool until all this stuff happened lately. I see why they used to enforce the no politics rule.
I'd watch your videos, I'd create a fresh channel though If I were yous.
Yeah, I was thinking I'd probably need to do that, for a number of reasons.
IT HAS HAPPENED GENTLMEN, BEHOLD! The Franken-RPK. Norinco RPK, Russian buttstock and pistolgrip, Romanian gastube cover, bulgario or yugo or something foregrip. So my next project is to get wood that actually matches.
http://www.classicfirearms.com/accessories/bul-akul-ps So just a quick question: When it says "press-fit barrel", does that mean that I need a press to fit the barrel onto the receiver? Because I thought that AK-47's utilized trunnions. I really have no idea what I'm doing, do I?
"press fit" basically means a barrel meant to be pressed into a trunnion. Because you use a hydraulic press to press your barrel into the barrel trunnion, as opposed to barrels which are screwed into a threaded portion on the receiver.
New banner? Also, I'm trying to see if I can trade the Gew98 for a Ruger 10/22.
this shit smells so fucking good
Also, I'm trying to see if I can trade the Gew98 for a Ruger 10/22.
WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?
this shit smells so fucking good
Their website has scented air fresheners. Tempted to buy one. :v:
this shit smells so fucking good
I agree. The smell gives me a wicked headache though. [editline]15th January 2013[/editline] Darn gunbroker people! HURRY UP AND RESPOND TO MY EMAILS
NY passed GG, another state on my "never visit" list. What a fucking cesspool, we should give it back to Britain.
from a sane perspective, this is what the current standings of the debate look like.
Only one major issue with that Zilla; NYC is a big, big, big hub of the nation's economic resources. They can have everything but the city itself back, sure. I might be persuaded into accepting that.
WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?
[img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/30174702/2013-01-15%2018.29.42.jpg[/img_thumb] It's incrediably beat up, and would require roughly $250 to refurbish.
It's sad because I love cities and would love to live in NYC because its a real cool city Not anymore!
I'll give you a bj for it
NY passed GG, another state on my "never visit" list. What a fucking cesspool, we should give it back to Britain.
Give NY to canada, and california to mexico. invade cuba and the Bahamas.
Great, I guess i have a year to sell my 9mm 10 round mags and .22 10 round mags and buy non existent 7 round ones. Guess I have to register my mosin too.
Here is the stupidity of the New York law... You are allowed to keep 10 round mags, but you are only allowed to load them to 7. That is fucking retarded.
