I mean I'll probably have a job by the end of the week, either working at some ice cream shop or a gun store/outdoors store
It'll be like a month and a half of till ill have enough to buy a AK, AR or FAL. This will be one of those instances where ill be blowing all my money on a gun
I feel like a crackhead
Why can't we take on the real issue's of education and mental health care? Why do they have to push for stupid shit that only ends up pudding on us law abiding gun owners.
because scapegoating and feel good bills are easier to pass
Really though, the EO's are actually mostly reasonable and actually seem to put quite a bit of emphasis on mental health - the real issue.
EO's aren't the problem, they're actually pretty reasonable.
The problem is that he voiced support for the AWB, as if its going to fix anything.
I don't quite get how background checks on private sales is supposed to work. Will they be required to take place in a gun store or some such where they can do background checks on the buyer and seller?
I don't quite get how background checks on private sales is supposed to work. Will they be required to take place in a gun store or some such where they can do background checks on the buyer and seller?
They'll probably want you to go to a gun store, pawn shop, or some place with an FFL, and get you to transfer the gun to the buyer.
He voiced support of an AWB and criticized congress for never getting anything done. The same congress that bill has to go through.
Key conservatives have hinted that they'll be open to an AWB though, so I'm still concerned.
I have to give it to him, Obama is not an idiot. His approach to this is was very smart. There are definitely a few questions/concerns, but a decent sized portion of his list of EOs are definitely reasonable. Still though, doesn't change the fact that he wants guns banned, he is trying to be clever about it. It's in Congress's field now...

I still think he's a scumbag for having children up on stage with him.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think he is detestable.
So to sum it up:

for the moment
Doesn't matter for shit what he wants. There's a lot of issues with trying to ram an AWB through congress right now. One being that the house is republican controlled, and even if some republicans will vote for it, some democrats will vote against it. The other issue is that the house is focused on budget debates and will backburner gun talks for probably months, and by then the shock will have worn off. And by then they'll be worried about midterm elections, and there's a lot more votes to be lost being anti-gun than to be gained. We're winning this, but we need to stay on top of what's going on.
Pretty much this, for the moment what we should all be doing is sending out letters, emails, and phone calls to our local cowar-I mean politicians. I hope you'll all be going to your state capital on Saturday!
Trunk come to tally Saturday lets go

Reagan was a huge advocate of a lot of kinda of prohibition bro. He loved seeing prisons overflow.

It's true, Reagan had his panties in a bunch over gun control from the minute he got shot all the way to the minute he died.
Who do you think Jim Brady was? That fucker was Reagan's assistant and press secretary.

This thread is hilarious right now.
I'm about to draft a letter to Maine's reps, anyone have anything in particular I should address? I haven't gotten it in a working state yet, I will post it when I have.
16 is downright idiotic.
You know, not really. This would be largely left up to doctors. It is not requiring that doctors ask, nor is it requiring that they report anything. I feel that a sensible doctor who is dealing with a patient where mental issues and firearms may mix, should inquire about firearms being owned by, or around, said patient. The rest falls on the honesty of the answer, as well as what the doctor chooses to do with such information. It does edge closely to a slippery slope though. The biggest thing that comes to mind is the government using this information to confiscate guns from individuals. At the most, if the information received were to have an impact, it should only be for future purchases.
Dammit man I voted for you, what are you doing?

Did you not see this coming from him? I lean left on some issues and I still voted against him.

I can edit videos rather decently, and I am willing to help. Also, if you have one, use a tripod. It seems like a pretty good idea. Having watched the video, I can safely say that you don't look too much like a teenager, and you don't sound autistic to me.
My tripod is older than I am, but I've got one.
