Why are .32s banned? That seems really stupid
All gun bans are stupid.
All gun bans are stupid.
Yes, they are. But I meant within the context of banning guns by calibre, banning .32s makes no sense at all.
If it's legal to open carry, and someone calls the cops on you for open carrying, then why would you end up in jail?
Its technically legal, but the cops will find some reason to put you in jail. "Brandishing", "disturbing the peace" I've heard a lot of reasons. They'll find something to book you for, like I said there is only one person I know you can successfully open carry.

Here in Maryland, weapons like semi auto PPSH's are banned, but you can own full auto weapons with the $250 government fundraising fee. (The license)
Also can't carry unless you're a politician or lawyer or something.

Basically, they wanted to ban cheap pistols and small pistols, often .32s are both small and cheap, so they're the evilest pistols in the world, along with .25s, they're the evilest too.
Don't worry, neither can Canadians. I'd try to explain some of them, and the nonsense justification for banning .32s, but I'm on my phone.
I still need to get off my lazy ass and talk to Kartoffel about those videos I wanted to make.
Yes, you probably should talk to Kartoffel. :v:
The thing is, banning pistols with a barrel less than 105mm already banned almost all these pistols, but they wanted to double-ban them for good measure.

All lies and fabrication. The carrying of a firearm is not grounds for brandishing or disturbing the peace. There have been MANY court cases in many states about this. The only time you can be charged is if you are in an area where it is illegal to open carry, at which point you will be charged with the illegal carrying of a firearm.
I suggest you check out opencarry.org, and go to your state's section.
EDIT: I just looked it up, MA is NOT an open carry state. The only form of carry allowed in MA is with a Class A License to Carry, which is concealed only. There is a License to Carry Class B, but it is only for the transportation of an unloaded handgun in a locked container.

$17 for a handgun? Damn those were the days.
That was expensive back then
$17 for a handgun? Damn those were the days.
Keep in mind, in those days you probably only made about a dollar a day if you had a good job
Keep in mind, in those days you probably only made about a dollar a day if you had a good job
And a Pepsi was just a nickel! I remember walking 15 miles up hill both ways in the snow just to get to class! Them was the days.

Very true.
That was expensive back then
In those times, an average workers weekly pay was around $10-11. A higher paid individual would likely be in the $20 range. So yea, $17 was definitely expensive.

Its never going to change, conservatives are being voted out in a few years which will cement gun control.

That's debatable, the NDP have annihilated their western base, their Quebec base only voted for them due to Layton, and the Liberals don't seem like they'll be able to pull out a candidate that can actually beat Harper. I say in 2015 it'll be a Conservative minority, and beforehand they'll promise to unban pistols to get gun owners to vote for them.

Well, if the liberals pull support from the cons then its possible Liberals or NDP could win. Because afterall, its a multiparty system not a 2 party system like in the US. Majority wins.

It's going to be a minority most likely, and the only other option I see is a Tory majority. The Liberals will make gains in Quebec no matter what, drawing almost exclusively from the NDP. The NDP will get no headway out west, who will all likely vote Tory. The Liberals lost a lot in Ontario last election, and while I can see some of it coming back, I don't see all of it. I can also foresee a resurgence of the BQ in Quebec, drawing from both the Liberals and NDP. By and large, the left-wing parties usually end up drawing more support from each other than they do from the Tories, who are the only viable right-wing option. There's too much competition right now out east between the Grits and Dippers, and the West is going to be almost solid blue next election. Ontario is going to be what decides if it's a Tory majority or a Tory minority.
So are there any other companies besides Nodak-Outofeverything-Spud that sell the 80% AR-15A1 receivers?
So this gun ban, is it going to just ban lower receivers and high cap magazines?
OK gentlemen I need your help,
I'm selling my AK tomorrow to a guy, normally this is all fine and dandy, but my friend I got going along with me is paranoid that it may not be legal because of the EO's Obama passed. Is that true, or am I in the clear? It's really no big deal to just transfer it at a gun shop or something, but it's just easier to do it in a parking lot and not have to pay a pawnshop extra.
no laws were ever enacted, just ideas being thrown around
So this gun ban, is it going to just ban lower receivers and high cap magazines?
The one that Diane Feinstein said she would introduce would ban anything with detachable mags and anything with a fixed magazine capacity over 5 (I think). All guns that are already like that would have to be registered (or buried in your backyard)
plus i can assure you no ones gonna stop you
