We used to have a Ruger Mini-14 Tactical...
until my dad sold it for around a fourth we bought it for 2 years ago right before this all happened.
If this somehow does pass I'm gonna show him the list and give him a smack
Figured I might as well make a new one

might be goin to a gunshop tomorrow that supposedly has like a dozen lugers there. Anything to look for and watch out for?
Look for a SR1911 under 700. Things make me hnghh so hard after shooting one.

made only with stuff that I actually own, the 10/22 is standing in for the mossberg 702
I also have body armor but I wouldn't wear it going innawoods because that's stupid and this already weighs enough without it. maybe if I were going into active combat but I somehow don't think the wildlife will be very well armed
Found a sporter Smith-Corona 1903 for 109 dollars a month ago and all the period military parts finally arrived today. Spent the day in the garage carefully fitting the parts and Ill get completed pics once its all done.
I'm wondering if I should sell this thing while the market is good, since 100 dollars into parts makes this thing worth only 210 dollars.

How they acted all formal while being pissed off was kind of funny though.

Dear ********,
Thank you for taking the time to write me to voice your concerns with our Second Amendment rights.
As a gun owner and avid sportsman, I support protecting American’s right to carry. The Second Amendment clearly guarantees an individual’s right to self-defense and I am proud that Georgia has established a legal structure that continues to protect this right.
There has been a lot of recent discussion regarding gun control from our Federal Senators and Representatives in Washington DC. As Lieutenant Governor, legislation from our United States Congress falls outside of my jurisdiction. I urge you to contact your federally elected Senator and Congressman as they are in a good position to hear your concerns as well.
As we continue the 2013 session here in Georgia, I appreciate your interest in this issue and will be sure this issue gets the appropriate attention from the State Senate. Please feel free to contact me in the future if you are in need of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Casey Cagle
Lt. Governor of Georgia
So glad this man is in right now.

Am I tacticool yet?
I'm sure some of you have seen the article in SH where apparently 60% of Americans support an AWB.
From Gallup's article on the Jan 19-20 poll:
The 60% saying they would vote "for" the assault weapons proposal is higher than the 44% support Gallup found with a similar measure in December that described assault weapons as "semi-automatic guns known as assault rifles." Also, the current wording reminds respondents that this would be a renewal of a law that existed previously.
At the same time, the 54% currently voting for limiting gun magazines to no more than 10 rounds is less than the 62% Gallup found in December when describing this as banning "the sale and possession of high-capacity ammunition clips that can contain more than 10 bullets." Thus, it appears that attitudes are somewhat variable on these gun control issues, depending on nuances in how the proposals are described.
Essentially they tried describing the AWB in different terms.
The question on Gallup's earlier poll was "Are you for or against a law which would make it illegal to manufacture, sell, or posses semi-automatic guns known as assault rifles?" 44% Yes
The recent question was "Would you vote for or against a law that would reinstate and strengthen the ban on assault weapons that was in place from 1994 to 2004?" 60% Yes
The poll doesn't tell us anything other than that you can manipulate statistics based on wording of the question.
I love how they continue to insist on calling anything higher than 10 rounds "high capacity".
I agree, especially since pretty much all modern double-stack mags for handguns 15 to 20 is pretty run-of-the-mill.
Also; my own survival kit based upon things I own already:
Opinions on this flash hider?

I'll sell you a YHM Phantom flash hider for $20 + shipping if you want it (you will need to buy a crush washer though, the only one I have is a used one, so it's already crushed). The only flash hiders that do better than a Phantom are the pronged flash hiders like the Vortex and Blackout. Advantage of the Phantom though is you don't get the annoying tuning fork sound every time you shoot like the pronged flash hiders.
It's this one: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Yankee-Hill-Machine-flash-hider-phantom-5c1-YHM-p/yhm-28-5c1.htm

What's wrong with the one I posted?
Can't view the link until I get home, blocked at work. lol

I've never actually shot one, but I know that is about the hardest 1911 to find, or at least it was. I've heard nothing but good about the quality and performance of them. I know a lot of people say it's about the best value on the 1911 market.
Personally, I was ALWAYS partial to my MC Operator, and I am still kicking myself to this day for selling it. I'm probably going to look for another one when I get my tax refund.

Completely ignore my last post. Midway is blocked at work, so I didn't get to fully look at it. I realize now it is for an AK. I automatically assumed it would be for an AR. I don't have much experience with AK flash hiders, so I don't feel comfortable providing an answer.
It pisses me off that they are trying to ban certain assault rifles, pistols, and shotguns - also high-capacity mags. It makes me what to do something from "V for Vendetta". It makes me angry.
The gunshow that came by my area a few weeks ago had a butt-tonne of SR1911s for sale from the various dealers. I personally love the 1911, but their safety is rather annoying to me in the SR. But like any Ruger I've dealt with, the quality is phenomenal.

Don't get mad. Get even. Write you representatives in congress. Let them know you demand that they not allow this feel good law infringe upon your rights. Also tell your friends and family, anyone you know, to write their reps and get this idiotic legislation thrown out.
Day 2 of the Siege: No news yet

Fox held a similar poll which suggested two thirds of gun owners would defy any new Federal ban.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2013/jan/20/two-thirds-us-weapons-owners-would-defy-federal-gu/
So guys, with all this nonsense going on with a possible ban and such, I haven't heard a single thing about NFA weapons. SBRs, SBSs, suppressors, any of that. Not a single thing in the news or any stupid articles yet. What could happen with them? Any ideas? I'm considering SBR'ing my spikes lower but I really don't want anything to happen to it like a confiscation or something, worst case scenario after this whole fiasco. Not to sound crazy, just cautious.
