almost bought a luger today for 700$, but decided against it at the last second.
For $700 you should have if it had matching numbers. Had a similar deal with my 1936 Luger, $800, found out later on that it's worth $2,500.
almost bought a luger today for 700$, but decided against it at the last second.
Damn dude you lost out. That was a good deal.
I want you all to imagine this The ban has died and everything has gone back to normal. WASR's for $500, a box of 20 7.62x39 for $4.50, and places are actually in stock! I'm so excited for those days again, and I can happily say it will return soon.
NFA items suffer as well. Suppressors would not, because those are not listed in the ban. However, anything else that meats the criteria of the ban, regardless of it being NFA or not, is illegal for sale/transfer.
It states that all guns legally owned before the ban are exempt. I do not see why this won't apply to NFA items, they don't mention NFA items in the bill at all. You just wouldn't be able to get newly made attachments and whatnot. It also doesn't say anything about new NFA weapons to my knowledge so you should still be able to register your post-ban weapons as NFA items as you can now, assuming it passes.

So basically the people who like G11s
Is it dead, or will it be voted upon.
Is it dead, or will it be voted upon.
Effectively dead, but it hasn't been voted on yet

Man, you guys keep saying "buy your AR lowers NOW", but I can't because I want a retro receiver and they're not filling orders yet. :C
Dear Mr. beanhead: Thank you for contacting me with your thoughts on gun ownership and gun safety legislation. Like all Americans, I was deeply saddened by the horrific shootings in Connecticut and at the Clackamas Shopping Center. I was also reminded that such events are unfortunately all too common in our country. I support the right of sportsmen to purchase guns to hunt and target shoot. I also support the right of law-abiding citizens to own certain firearms in accordance with the Second Amendment. However, I believe that current gun laws in the United States are contributing to a problem of gun violence that is out of control. In many states, it's impossible to even close the gun show loophole where individuals can purchase unlimited amount of guns without a reasonable background check. Hundreds of people die from gun accidents and thousands of people are killed by gun violence every year. Assault weapons are available over the counter and can come with enormous magazines that serve no purpose in sports or target shooting. Too often our system of providing care to those with mental health disorders, who may become violent, often falls short. In the aftermath of recent shootings, it has been encouraging to learn that many people actually do think that reasonable common-sense steps can be taken to reduce gun violence. Indeed, surveys show that the majority of NRA members disagree with many of the policies that the NRA itself is promoting. It is time to have a thoughtful and rational conversation about gun safety. This is why I support assault weapons legislation in the 113th Congress, along with a number of other pieces of legislation that will increase background checks and improve research so that we can better understand gun violence. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with me. I hope you will continue to be a part of this important discussion. Please continue to be in touch. Sincerely, Earl Blumenauer Member of Congress

Dear beanhead, Thank you for contacting me with your thoughts about events that have recently occurred in Oregon and Connecticut. I have heard from many Oregonians who have shared their thoughts and prayers as we process, both individually and as a nation, what happened and try to heal. I am deeply saddened by these senseless shootings and the loss of innocent lives. As a parent, I was horrified to learn of these heartbreaking events, and I am at a loss to make sense of it all. Mary and I are holding in our thoughts and prayers the victims, their loved ones, the communities, and all who have been affected by these terrible acts of violence. The tragedy in Newtown affirms that, as a country, we must no longer accept complacency or the unwillingness to discuss gun violence. Massacres like this have occurred all too often across this country. They raise questions that need thorough examination, including the types of weapons and ammunition, the securing of weapons in the home, the application of background checks, and the accessibility of treatment for mental illness. I fully support President Obama's call to action to prevent these tragedies from continuing to happen. Furthermore, I plan to work with my colleagues in Congress and engage in productive dialogue to answer the question of what strategies can effectively address the epidemic of gun violence. Please know that I will keep your views and the memory of the lives lost due to gun violence in mind during these discussions. Thank you for participating in this national dialogue. I hope you will continue to send your thoughts and observations my way. All my best, Jeffrey A. Merkley United States Senator
Oregon :/
Man, you guys keep saying "buy your AR lowers NOW", but I can't because I want a retro receiver and they're not filling orders yet. :C
Why do you want a retro receiver? The only difference is that there is no cage around the magazine release (making it easier to press accidentally) and it uses different pins. Just get a standard lower and an A1 upper receiver.
yeah I don't particularly care for wasrs, I'm probably going to pick up a shiny new ar15 with all the money I've saved by not being able to buy more ammo
He might be talking about magazines and such.
Well most NFA full automatics use surplus magazines anyway. But yeah, that area would be affected. I doubt they'd allow newly made magazines for NFA weapons only.
I really want a FN five seven Too bad I can't afford it or the ammo
yeah I don't particularly care for wasrs, I'm probably going to pick up a shiny new ar15 with all the money I've saved by not being able to buy more ammo
What's wrong with WASR's?
What's wrong with WASR's?
You can do a better job at home. The biggest problem is they started out being made with rejected parts and cut up Romanian guns.

Just get a standard lower and an A1 upper receiver.
There's more than one model of retro lower and more differences than just those. Only the Colt SP1 lower and the Colt 601 lower use different pins, too. All the other lower receivers use the same pins. Also, Nodak Spud makes the absolute best AR lowers I've ever seen. Exactly to military spec. I don't know about you but I kind of think A2 lowers look silly on A1 uppers, too. The difference in finish and the subtle differences in the design change a lot from maker to maker. It's all personal choice of course, but if I were building a reproduction of a military retro AR, I wouldn't mind waiting a little while longer and paying the extra $20-$30 to get a lower that's as well built as Colt's, and still looks like it was made by Colt in the 1960s, down to nearly every little detail (there are affiliates that will custom engrave the Colt logo and everything into the side of the lower, even). Basically it's for people who want their retro AR to be as accurate as possible, and for people who want mil-spec quality for a reasonable price.
What's wrong with WASR's?
I'd rather spend my money on something else, I didn't say anything was wrong with them is there some kind of language barrier between us because you seem to misread everything I say
You can do a better job at home. The biggest problem is they started out being made with rejected parts and cut up Romanian guns.
They must have rejected some pretty nice parts, becuase my WASR is fantastic.
You said you don't care for them, so I asked what was wrong with them. Not really hard to misinterpret that...
well they're cheap AKs, hardly anyone cares for them :v:
