It states that all guns legally owned before the ban are exempt.
I do not see why this won't apply to NFA items, they don't mention NFA items in the bill at all.
You just wouldn't be able to get newly made attachments and whatnot.
It also doesn't say anything about new NFA weapons to my knowledge so you should still be able to register your post-ban weapons as NFA items as you can now, assuming it passes.
I was strictly speaking about anyone wanting to buy an NFA after a ban would pass, such as an SBR, SBS, Select-Fire, etc. Of course, anything owned prior to the ban would be grandfathered like everything else. Many NFA weapons would fall under the ban because they are the exact same thing as the non-NFA versions. Attachments would be largely unaffected as well because the ban only names three specific attachments that would be banned.

Well hey it's almost reached the reserve.
I hope he doesn't actually shoot it :C
I've got like 5 pounds of silica gel, so rust is no problem. I was looking at the Navy due to the fact that I know it, I don't know about any of the Remington revolvers, but I know about the Navy, and I love the look of it.
You don't need anything more than water to clean it and Hoppes No.9 oil to keep it from rusting. Be sure you go with a steel framed version if you want to get a conversion kit in the future, the brass frames get kicked apart by em. The conversion kits let you use .38 Special (It'll still be BP only unless otherwise stated or die a horrible death though), basically replaces the cylinder and loading lever. Also you should inspect the muzzle to be sure some jackass didn't press the front sight in too hard and bulge the barrel as with mine or you'll need to get that fixed, it'll still shoot like that but you won't hit anything. Additionally you will probably have to saw down through the hammer a bit to get the sights to 25 yards, they're usually cut to 75 yards which means you mind as well be hip shooting like Marshall Dillon if you're shooting closer than 50 yards.
I cleaned with water and oiled my Navy after shooting a few months ago after shooting and it's still clean as a whistle, no rust at all.
Anyone know why trunk got banned?
Just got an A2 stock for one of my builds. My local range also has a LAR Grizzly lower for 200$... Think I should go for it?

just 24 hours for something in lmao pics
also I wouldn't bother, lar grizzlys are just 1911s for people with smaller penises (or silhouette shooters)
Not the 1911- the AR lower.

It's written by a psychologist, discussion why anti-guns hate guns so much, so no, I can't do a tl;dr version. It's very informative, get off your ass and read it :v:
Well, I'm also debating on going for an AXTS lower... I have a high end AR, just want to put a nice lower on it.

Could someone please tell me what a Sturm is? It's one of the weapons banned by name in the AWB but I have no idea what it is and it's not an Stg 44
Its a ruger SR556
Officially its called Sturm, Ruger & Co.
[del]It's because of the way the list is set up. Ruger's full name is Sturm, Ruger & Company.[/del]
So, anything new with you guys?
Get around the high capacity ban by making a magazine that when you remove the bottom plate, another magazine slides into it.
Make 3 10rnd capacity and slide them together, 30+rnd magazines.
Its just a magazine feeding a magazine, not a high capacity magazine officer!
(IF any ban goes through of course)

I figured it had to do with Ruger. A little stupid to just write Sturm.

I've been thinking it wouldn't be hard to get 10 round magazines and weld them together to make normal-cap magazines
So do you guys know of any good websites that sell 80% receivers?
[editline]26th January 2013[/editline]
That aren't out of them, obviously.
So I heard it's a bad idea to cross draw (move your shooting hand to the opposite side of your body to draw a handgun).
What about cross drawing with a shoulder holster? If I'm wearing one and my primary shooting hand is my right hand, should the gun be on the right side of my body?
Cross draw means that your shooting hand is crossing over your body to get to the weapon. It should be on your left side if right handed and vice versa if left handed.

At any rate don't get me wrong the Navies are cool little guns, but if you or whoever has bigger hands then they will feel small, and NMA are easier to take apart to clean and the cylinder comes out very easily for interchanging with conversion cylinders or regular cylinders... I'm just offering more info is all.

I'd have to agree with his response. It's a really good article that can be used for so much more than just simple gun-control debates. It really breaks down into logic and psychological responses to emotions. Don't tl;dr it, as he said.
At Boston University, I see people who are literally afraid of firearms. There's a girl on my floor who got physically ill (ie retching) when she saw a picture of a Suomi submachine gun. There's a very skewed opinion of what a gun is there, as well as what gun culture is. I've heard, for example, people ask me if collectors of antique firearms collect them to fetishize over the deaths and murders committed with their guns in the past. o_o
These people cannot comprehend private ownership of firearms. I found the best ways to deflect negative comments or criticisms during debates they start are ones I've seen in limited use on facepunch. 1) Apply all the arguments for why the 2nd amendment is outdated or wrong to any of the other amendments. 1st works very well. 2) As for enforcement of the AWB, pointing out the Waco Siege and the Ruby Ridge incident. Two incidents where even though both sides were in the wrong it was ultimately the federal government that overstepped its boundaries and committed government terrorism especially on the Waco case.
Edit: upon reading that long psychology paper above some of my arguments have already been stated so sorry for lateness
ban list
I can't help but notice that the FNC is not banned by name here.
Seeing as there is no firearm by the name "22 FNC"
There is however a boat by that name...she banned a boat on her firearms ban
It's a good thing AK47's are on that ban list because, ya know, uh, there are barely any actual AK47's owned here.
People who get physically ill over a device have got to have some mental illness of their own.
Be like "Oh my god a gaming computer HURGH!"
We started a new ammo policy yesterday, so I tried to clarify what it meant exactly with a few people.
One of the managers I talked to said that it was explicitly 3 boxes total of ammunition because "if we let them buy as much as they wanted, they'd clean us out and sell it on the black market for three times the price"
All of my what.
