alright, can we take the hughes amendment into court? it wasn't passed fairly, so we have a case there
yes. Whether or not we'd win would be up to the judge. Gun owners of America vs BATFE would be a hell of a legal nightmare

At one point back in the 80's-90's, this place was churning out 30k+ a day in guns. I've seen black rifles sell more than anything lately, and well sell .223/5.56 by the crates daily. I love seeing this  I've also got a friend that works at Ellett. He's telling me they ship those damn things out by the hundreds (if not thousands) per day.
Wheres your shop at? May have to come and visit some time.
alright, can we take the hughes amendment into court? it wasn't passed fairly, so we have a case there
Take the NFA to court it's the foundation of it all, that would remove the $200 tax AND the Hughes Amendment since the NFA is where the term Title II comes from in the first place. Can't make something illegal if it no longer exists in law. Course it'd be easier to build a time machine, go back to 1902 to ensure the Dick Act was never revised.
The Dick Act of 1902 also known as the Efficiency of Militia Bill H.R. 11654, of June 28, 1902 invalidates all so-called gun-control laws. It also divides the militia into three distinct and separate entities. The three classes H.R. 11654 provides for are the organized militia, henceforth known as the National Guard of the State, Territory and District of Columbia, the unorganized militia and the regular army. The militia encompasses every able-bodied male between the ages of 18 and 45. All members of the unorganized militia have the absolute personal right and 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms of any type, and as many as they can afford to buy.
It's known as the 1903 Militia Act now and has no mention of the 2nd Amendment.
ha [editline]12th October 2012[/editline] Wheres your shop at? May have to come and visit some time.
Georgia. You nearby by chance?
yes. Whether or not we'd win would be up to the judge. Gun owners of America vs BATFE would be a hell of a legal nightmare
Something like that would probably be a candidate for the US Supreme Court since it's underlying principles are based on constitutional legality. Ultimately it would come down to precedence.
My personal belief is that every present act should be removed and that the only provisions of any form of gun control should be a combined NICS/Mental Health Care evaluation paid through taxes.
Georgia. You nearby by chance?
Georgia as well, about a half hour from Tallahassee and Valdosta.
-snip-
My sister lives up in newnan, not far from an Atlanta. When I go to see her again, I'll pop up there and check out your shop. Does your shop do business online?
Through gunbroker, but that's about it. We mainly do in-store sales. Drop on by, it would be quite awesome. There's some awesome ranges in north georgia.
For anyone who has any questions about 5.56 as a home defense weapon.
Anyone live in arkansas? I recently found out ill be stationed there(little rock AFB), and I'm curious about the shooting scene in the state and how the laws are. I'm from florida, so I'm used to a fairly relaxed system

If that's your first permanent station be prepared for 3 years of boring.
don't be such a downer, you never know until you try we need to get the second back to its original purpose of allowing people to arm ourselves to match whoever may oppose us
Just a matter of having enough money to handle the courts, you'd be fighting Fred on this one so it's gonna add up really quick and go on for a long time. Also to contest the law you have to break it first, that means building or otherwise illegally buying a Title II gun if you can find someone else to jump in front of the tank with you by selling you the gun, something no one with the means is willing to try in either case because the cost is a couple decades in a very bad prison and the loss everything you ever worked for if you loose the case. If you're lucky you could get the GOA to back you, they're pretty aggressive about this sort of stuff but even they haven't had the balls to go after the Hughes Amendment or the NFA. Doesn't help that a lot of people who agree with repealing the NFA believe it to be impossible in today's political climate.
It doesn't help that both our major parties have gone off the deep end
or you could file to build one and when it gets kicked back take them to court
That I would totally do (If I could afford the legal fees that is).
It would take a TON of preparation though, going over all the precedence and knowing every detail pertaining to that part of the law, knowing how each judge acts on the issues, etc. ON TOP OF paying a very good lawyer assloads of money to make your case bulletproof (no pun intended).
there is no detail pertaining to that part of the law because the hughes amendment never got voted in
It was passed by whole voice vote. The controversy comes from the denial of a request to take a recorded vote, so technically it did get voted in...

I know they're trying to make art, but it shouldn't be at the expense of guns. Couldn't they just use raw, scrap metal? That 1911 is piece of history and an example of American craftsmanship from a different era. Now it's just crap. I hope zombies eat all of these people.
So according to US Supreme Court case law, banning semi-automatics (rifles and handguns) and "assault rifles" is unconstitutional, and something that is federally preemptive over state law. [editline]12th October 2012[/editline] fuck automerge

Some hours late on the gun art thing: THIS is acceptable gun art.
