Lee Enfield No. 5 Jungle Carbine that one of my dad's college friends gave to me for free. Haven't gotten a chance to shoot it, though, because .303 British is expensive; something like $1 per bullet. Still need to clean it up, but I've read the field-stripping guide and it's mind-numbingly complex compared to my other guns.
Oh man No.5s are easy. Step 1: Remove magazine. Step 2: Flip up rear sight, pull the bolt all the way back, and rotate the bolthead off the track (pull towards the left side of the rifle) Step 3: Unscrew all the screws in the trigger guard area, remove trigger guard Step 4: Remove barrel band Step 5: Forearm and handguard come right off. (no need to remove the buttstock)
then again, the AR-15 is a fairly robust design and it's not like anyone even makes 6.8spc ammo that runs dirty
This seems like a p. well done review http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/03/chris-dumm/gun-review-armalite-m-15/ Personally, I see Armalite as one of the top end AR manufactures
Well Armalite is where the AR in AR-15 comes from. Stoner sold them the patents, and they sold them to Colt.
Well Armalite is where the AR in AR-15 comes from. Stoner sold them the patents, and they sold them to Colt.
From what I heard, the US Government demanded they "sell" them to Colt to make the M-16, because they weren't willing to sell out the contract, and then I think the original Armalite went bankrupt shortly afterwards, and was restarted sometime in the '90s. I think, I'm too fucking lazy to even look this up, I'm just going off memory, I could be totally wrong.
Well Armalite is where the AR in AR-15 comes from. Stoner sold them the patents, and they sold them to Colt.
it's a different brand now though. if it were the same brand it were 50 years ago I wouldn't even bother asking
Met a girl who wanted to learn how to shoot while I was visiting a neighboring gun shop today. I took her to the range and we hung out, put some holes in things (wish it was the other way around ) and we just hung out. Girl handled a .44 mag with ease, which was just awesome. Girls who love to shoot are just downright sexy.
Question for some of you guys- What is the loudest firearm (no cannons and such  ) that you have ever heard? Any that you have just felt the "thump" from?
470 Nito is pretty loud and thumpy.
Question for some of you guys- What is the loudest firearm (no cannons and such  ) that you have ever heard? Any that you have just felt the "thump" from?
Well, if you count handheld launchers, the AT4 is pretty loud and impressive if you are used to 5.56 :V Other than that the M2 Browning is really loud. The slow and heavy "thump thump thump" can be herd from a mile away.
A local place is offering this deal:
So... Do they ship by chance?
Loud? I've heard an M44, and a few others that most would consider loud, but I need to try and get a video of my step-dad's ported .300 Win Mag. That thing is god awful loud. I remember the first time we brought it to the range. Half of the range staff came into the rifle range wanting to know what the hell was going on, and this is a place were people rip around with NFAs all day long.
You want loud? Not the supressed one, but all the others. Goddamn.
