do want.
That's hot, but for $160 I'm expecting a built in pez dispenser. [editline]24th September 2012[/editline]
I'm going back to Georgia in a few months and plan to get my carry & conceal permit. I really want to get a Sig Sauer P229; apparently they make a wonderful carry gun.
They are kinda wide for IWB carry.
probably the only non-wood SKS that didn't make me cringe.
I agree! Personally I would have gone with a folding wire stock, but again, just my opinion. [editline]24th September 2012[/editline] That's some pretty tasteful wood burning, actually
And I thought I butchered my Yugo SKS (Actually I don't care, I think she's fucking sexy)
That's actually pretty sexy. Did you paint the stock yourself or did you buy a certain brand?
Painted it myself, didn't come out as good as I thought, mainly because of the texture of the plastic.. made the edges bleed a little bit.

[editline]24th September 2012[/editline] Also, question: How hard do you think it would be to try and make money assembling parts kits and then selling the finished products? Would I be able to turn a buck or two? I have all of the equipment necessary (and luckily).
Sometimes I wish I went with the vietnam paintjob http://www.houtsenterprises.net/dur_vietnamtigerstripe.html

Why is it that Classic Arms never seems to get in any SKS's?
I just got an SKS off of Gunbroker. A Yugo 59/66 from a importer named Cherry's. It is mostly clean of cosmo except the insides. What's left is pretty light. It looks nice though.
Got mine off of gunbroker also, forgot the importers name. Seemed brand new, it was like they just cleaned the cosmo. off and then put it up for sale. Came with the sling, leather pouches for stripper clips, old oiling can and a little cleaning kit tucked away in the stock :)

stripping down my mosin nagant's bolt in entirety was the biggest pain in the ass ever. i'm not quite sure i did it right. it's as tight as it will get with the screw being lined up, but i'm still really worried. i tested it's decocking method, which still worked just fine..
Would you guys maybe like to see a picture of that Elephant air gun? its freaking weird, but awesome. The Model 700 is cool too(that's a 38.6, I haven't shot much bigger than a .22LR to be absolutely honest). Speaking of which, what is a good second gun? My grandfather(not the one I inherited guns from) said a .223 would be nice, but I was not sure.

the nugget bolt is such a pain in the ass
Wait. You can decock a mosin? :v: This might have been useful information for me earlier.
Times like this is when I appreciate the ease of taking apart a KAR 98 bolt
I only have my airsoft K98 to go off of, but it's at least realistic in how the bolt comes out, and it's a fucking dream. I've seen actual takedown videos of the real steel version and even stripping the bolt is easy, since the lug in the buttstock is supposed to be there to easily disassemble. I just love the Mauser platform in general though.
Wait. You can decock a mosin? :v: This might have been useful information for me earlier.
bolt forward, handle up. pull the trigger. don't do it with a round in the chamber though. it isn't a decocker like we think of today, the firing pin still drops, just considerably slower. it should be fine with anything boxer primed but it'll set off berdans.
I actually don't get the problem that people have with taking apart the Mosin's bolt. I've never had trouble getting it apart for cleaning.
I once had my Mosin's bolt slip on me when I took the bolt out to clean the barrel. It flipped itself up when it was supposed to be on the right, and so I spent 2 hours trying to get that thing out.
You know what bolt is even easier to disassemble? Remington 870 (why did I find this image on the Marlin website??)
I was going to pick up an AR-7 for that exact reason since assembly and disassembly is a breeze with it. A Savage model 6 however followed me home instead, which looks exactly like this one and has the same scope. [thumb]http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/vv259/ring33/100_5553.jpg[/thumb]
Wait. You can decock a mosin? :v: This might have been useful information for me earlier.
if you push the bolt to the right a single click (don't shove it all the way down) and then pull the trigger, it will decock. it's not the safest method if a round is chambered, but it works. Yes. Yes it is. Shush. [editline]25th September 2012[/editline] I honestly don't know why, but the 92FS is my favorite handgun, period.
