Springfield 1881 trapdoor rifle, actual antique. Recoil is shit, but if I can control it the gun has a range of 1400 yards
Recoil wouldnt be as bad if you didnt have the whole chick lean thing going :v:

I can't stop focusing on how much chicken wing there is.
And that strange holding position.
Can you it anything at 1400 yards though?
With a scope, yes. An actual antique scope though would be at least a grand.

Amen... he just needs to lean inward more
Amen... he just needs to lean inward more
explain please
explain please
Leaning backwards while firing can cause the recoil to knock you off your balance, leaning forwards counteracts this.
Picture related to stances.

Me with my baby: Taiwanese army M14 (because any military issue firearm is near impossible to get in New York) The furthest I ever hit with it is a bullseye at 200 yards, no scope.
Oh yeah, In honor of Full Metal Jacket, I named it Bess.
And yes, I have chickenwing problems
chickenwinging isn't too bad, the problem is that you've got a lady lean
that too. I could probably hit a hundred yards instead of fifty while standing if I didn't/

What part of New York? Depending on where you are in the state, it ranges from surprisingly easy to near impossible.

Westchester county
Westchester county
Westchester? Be glad it isn't NYC.
Locally here in Erie, we have one large milsurp provider but since they have a near monopoly in the area they charge bullshit prices for all of their weapons new and used. I however found these two smaller gun shop about an hour drive away that have decently priced milsurp and the other has a lot of classic wooden rifles.
Other than the small mom and dad's store which I can use as an FFL for gunbroker, I have never seen a used SKS in the area for under $500.
that's not an mp10
It's the SMG-2... my bad.
I also like the look of the early MP5A3:

Have you seen either a FAL or a Barret?
Have you seen either a FAL or a Barret?
FAL? Not many. Barrets? A lot.
Local Gun store is selling an Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Super Magnum in .338 Lapua and a Steyr Scout in 7.62 NATO.
see I've seen buttloads of FALs but hardly any barrets. most people around here opt for practical guns rather than .50 BMG monstrosities
My family combined owns 30+different types of firearm. The only ones we still want are a garret, and a FAL.
Yes I have, I used to photograph the foxes in the park next to my house. There are plenty of people who have pet foxes and their are ways to make them more domestic.
And getting a coyote is not an option. Imagine if it got out, mated with other dogs, it would be a bigger problem than foxes in Australia.
First, there is no way to domestic a fox, coyote, or any wild animal. Domestication can take years, upwards of 50-100 years in some cases. Domestication involves genetic changing of a species. You can tame wild animals to certain degrees, depending on species, but they will still maintain their wild instincts because of their genetics.
On to the fox/coyote debate. A coyote is definitely a much better option, if available. Female coyote's can only mate for five days between January and March. Male coyotes are only able to produce fertile sperm during these times. If you are outside of January or March, a male coyote will not have anything to do with another female animal, regardless of species, and regardless if they are in heat. Also, coyotes will only mate with one partner for several years. It's possible, and not unheard of, for a coyote to mate with a dog, but the circumstances requiring it make it rare.
As far as taming, coyotes can learn faster than dogs, and make great companions. A lot of people use tame coyotes for hunting, because of their strong natural instinct. This is also one of the problems with keeping a coyote as a pet. If you have a neighbor with chickens or other small animals that are accessible, the coyote needs to be tied or pinned.
As far as domesticated foxes. The only domesticated fox in existence are Russian Silver Foxes. The process of domesticating these foxes started in the 40s and lasted until the late 90s. That is over 50 years. Also, they were domesticated like dogs, so that is what they act like.
Talking about foxes here in America, even if you get a fox as a kit, it will become a handful as it grows. They are incredibly destructive, and as they get older they tend to only bond with one person or animal. When this happens they become frightened of anything else that comes near them. On top of it all they have a horrible musk smell that does not go away. I know several people who have had foxes as kits, but ended up having to release them, for various reasons. On the flip-side, a friend of the family has a tame coyote that he has had for almost 8 years now, and is a loyal companion.
Man, I would love to get one of those flat receivers and a MP5 parts kit to make an SBR.
I know a gunsmith that could probably put that thing together also... if he can build a semi-auto MG42 out of a parts kit I am sure he would be able to pull off this...
Temptation...

Well, how about this. Do it yourself to learn the skills and you'll treasure the gun as something you kinda made

If you have a jig, maybe. The HK receivers have too many curves and folds and shit in them for me to try myself. I'm not patient enough to try myself.
