If you have a jig, maybe. The HK receivers have too many curves and folds and shit in them for me to try myself. I'm not patient enough to try myself.
The flats come with everything stamped into them (if they didn't, no one would be able to do it themselves), all you need to do is wrap it around a steel bar and weld it

This is actually a CETME flat, but they're pretty much the same

Okay, I'm looking at getting a sidearm for hunting. We have a hog problem that has just recently become rampant at our camp. Don't normally carry a sidearm when hunting, but I want to start. I've been looking at a few choices, and currently I think I'm going to go with this:

My reasoning thus far has been for a few reasons. First, I don't really want a longslide. Second, I like the higher capacity over a revolver. Third, stainless tends to handle better in outdoor environments, especially the southern humidity. Fourth, 1911. Thoughts?
what caliber? standard .45 acp?
what caliber? standard .45 acp?
Colt Delta Elite is 10mm only. I'm pretty much going to go with a 10mm. It's the perfect pistol caliber for hunting. Can kill anything from a whitetail to a polar bear (no joke).
Aren't a good deal of the southern United States dealing with a foreign hog problem in general? I've heard things about a Russian/native super-boar hybrid.
Yeah, some of those pigs can get to some pretty serious sizes, definitely want something with some umph behind it or some very quick feet, my Dad took one in California that weighed in at around 200 pounds after field dressing and we were told that wasn't unusual. She made for some tasty chili too.
There's a video on Youtube of an Aussie hunting hogs with a spear, ended up having to stab it in the face to keep it from taking his kneecaps off and it still wanted a piece of him after that, they're not afraid to have at you when confronted. Would almost rather face down a Bear.
Where in Erie are you?
Im in Buffalo and Ive been looking for a good FFL, and a good range
[editline]19th October 2012[/editline]
Is the monopoly you're talking about BGC?
Buffalo too man, I live 5 minutes away from the BGC and that was who I was referring to.
Niagara Gun Range up the boulevard is good if you want a decent indoor range in the area, I fortunately have some private land near Alden I have available.
As for my FFL, Mr.Freeman at Freeman's Sports Shop at Akron said I can use him provided I contact him and pay the $25 transfer fee.

Late reply I know, I just got back from my classes at college.

Look at that quilitj five hundred year old wood! It's only been rotted out twice! And what caliber could beat glorious 9mm parabellum? Nothing is the answer! Carry eight bullets! Is almost three more than revolver! Is exactly one more than 1911! Look, the M88 even has safety mechanism that works all the time, every time, most of the time!
For low low low low low low low price of 2000 Srbske Dinars! Is about 23.00 American money!

Sig Sauer SG-556. Got a pretty good deal on it, considering I panic-bought it. Taking her out to shoot tomorrow, can't wait.

It's always been an issue, but our land was hit incredibly bad by them this year. We have 300 acres in Smithsdale, MS, and have never had a hog problem before. This year, we planted our initial food plots for bow season, but a week later when we returned, the plots had been completely ravaged by hogs. We lost almost $2000 worth of food plots. Our cameras have been capturing them coming in, and some of them are absolutely massive.
Two weeks ago I took a 183LBS hog with my AR. It was about a 75 yard shot with a .75 grain Hornady JHP. I went for the head, and luckily hit him. The other problem is these hogs are not at all scared of people. I believe these hogs likely escaped from a farm about a mile up the road, but the man there won't admit it. It's the only logical reason I can think of as to why they are not afraid.

Georgian here. South Georgia and Alabama have hog problems from what I've heard and seen. Great hunting too!

I want to touch it. It's beautiful. Did it come with those Lancer mags?
Dad just got a Colt dragoon (the gun Mattie Ross had in True Grit). Will post pic when I get home from college
*sigh*
Still looking for a private handgun purchase in the state of Arizona that isn't either ridiculously expensive or sketchy as fuck.
I want to touch it. It's beautiful. Did it come with those Lancer mags?
Nah, used a pawnshop as an FFL (Had to spend 3 hours there because of issues with a MI ID in GA) and while I was waiting I noticed they had the lancer mags for 10$ a piece, so I picked up a few of them a long with a few of the couplers.
Very nice. The factory Sig mags for the 556 are total shit.

Wait, so is it possible to purchase firearms in other states?
I kind of want to go to the place in Pawnstars and check out their inventory :v:

I might be wrong with this, but the Pawnstars inventory is all pre-1900 guns, so I don't think they would require you to fill out forms or anything, just be over 18.
Michigan law states that I can't buy a rifle outside of Michigan, unless it's in a state that touches Michigan's border. The ATF doesn't give a shit and just requires I pass a backround check, thats how I got around it.

Shooting it he should be fine... but how in the hell is he gonna hold it up?

I think Pawnstars doesn't have an FFL which is why you always see them bitch about "If it was manufactured after 1898, we can't buy it." and to be honest you will be disappointed if you saw the place, I went there last year and there's a better yet cramped pawn shop to the left of the shop when viewed from the front (camera tricks make it hidden behind the building in their panning) but they have a lot of milsurp.
When I went to the other pawn shop behind the Pawn Star's Pawn shop, I was literally stepping over a pile of 1911s on the floor and picked up a nice PASGT. Although unrelated, I will never forget how I got through TSA security fine with it and some dirty looks by the guards checking my bag while the person behind me got surrounded and thought to be a terrorist when he had a small inhalant in his pocket.
You can pick up guns from other states provided your state allows the purchase of them. I can get hunting rifles from other states surprisingly easy, but when it comes to a baby killing assault weapon I can't get it unless I Newyorkify it.
Short: Find the Pawn shop next to the Pawn Star's shop right next to the Porn Shop next door, they have a lot more guns then the "big" Pawn Star's shop does. I among many others was disappointed by the Pawn Star's Shop.
Gonna go grab myself a mossberg 500 tomorrow. Should I get the 5 shot that comes with a 18.5 inch and field barrel combo or the 8 shot persuader with 20 inch barrel I can adapt for field use with a $130 barrel?
I was serious when I asked about the price of that pistol.
Do I have to go to Serbia and smuggle it out or something?
