The 92's trigger is too long and spongey for my taste.
The Glock trigger isn't much better, I dislike both of them. I'm rather used to nice 1911's and polished sears on revolvers though, so having factory triggers is almost enough to make me go "eugh." on the first pull.
on the topic of pistol best first pistol one .22LR and not .22LR
In Canada? In .22 probably a Ruger MkII/MkIII or a used .22 revolver, for not .22 a TT-33 hands down, the gun is $200, 2280 rounds of Czech surplus is another $300-$350, right there you're set.

I could damn near use this as a race gun I'm going to go right out and admit that that's an almost irresponsibly light break but I haven't had an accidental discharge and I've been carrying it like that for years
The absolute nicest factory trigger I've ever experienced on a handgun was on the FNS-9. Absolutely amazing trigger with a super short reset.
I haven't tried an FNS but if it's anything line an FNP it's a fantastic gun [editline]26th October 2012[/editline] FNS is striker fired I'm sold
I'm saving my pennies so I can buy one the day I turn 21 C:
The United States Marine Corps has patented MARPAT, including specifics of its manufacture.[1] By regulation, the pattern and items incorporating it, such as the MCCUU and ILBE backpack, are to be supplied by authorized manufacturers only and are not for general commercial sale, although imitations are available such as "Digital Woodland Camo" or "Digital Desert Camo".
So that is why it is so hard for me to find woodland marpat that actually looks like real woodland marpat. I know that isn't really a firearm, but I think it would make sense to post something related to camouflages in a firearms thread. Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can get Marpat woodland shirt and pants (or whatever you call those uniforms, blouse and trousers?) and maybe a boonie?

It's gonna be somewhat difficult to obtain Woodland MARPAT since 99% of what's being issued is Desert MARPAT. Though it does pop up on ebay and in surplus stores on occasion.
eBay has tons of marpat [editline]26th October 2012[/editline] I'm the camo/ uniform person around da airsoft forum
So, what's FP's opinion on the Ruger Mini-14? Would it be sensible to get a fixed-stock Mini-14 as a first rifle or not? This question is hardly relevant in my life for another few years, but I'm curious. :v: [editline]27th October 2012[/editline] I just saw Hickok45's video on it and I am in love with that thing.

Doesn't seem like a bad rifle, but I've only shot one once.
Goddamn. I played through Dishonored and now I want an old flintlock/matchlock pistol :v:
Goddamn. I played through Dishonored and now I want an old flintlock/matchlock pistol :v:
PLEASE stay away from Loyalist Arms/Middlesex/Any variation thereof. They're all terrible Indian guns that blow up or just plain don't work.
There's easy DIY kits for a Blunderbuss. Legal SBS without need for licensing.

But that's the evilest babykiller of all! It fires high-power bullets that heatseek to women and children to cause horrid massacres like École Polytechnique and Utøya, why just owning it will cause every baby, puppy, and kitten in a 300 mile radius of you to immediately and spontaneously die! Really though I've heard it's a pretty average rifle, it's not amazingly accurate but it's decently reliable. IMO not worth the cash, though, they run $800 up here.
There's easy DIY kits for a Blunderbuss. Those Indian barrels aren't worth the risk either, the new ones are supposedly good but the old ones were welded pipe, which fails spectacularly and it'd be pretty hard to tell em apart just looking at em. The locks are still a crapshoot though, literally. Slow timing, poor sparking or just plain bad lock geometry, end up putting more money than what you'd pay for a proper pistol from Track of the Wolf or an individual gunmaker. The Rifle Shoppe has so many kits it's insane too, they're more expensive than other suppliers but they have stuff that you literally can't find anywhere else, like Wall Gun and Nock Gun and even Ferguson Rifle parts. Expect a long wait for stuff if they don't have it in stock though.

Get one of the newer ones since it is more accurate. Get a one with a wood stock if you don't want people thinking it's an ultra evil black gun. A very reliable gun with a simple field stripping. Look up Nutnfancy and his reviews on the gun if you want to know more.
Oh trust me, I had my ear talked off by a reenactor that absolutely loathes Indian/Paki firearms :v:
I always had issues removing the bolt from the bolt carrier for cleaning, it could be that I was some sort of idiot with it but I dunno.
Once you understand the Garand action, you'll be golden. Same for M14, M1 Carbine, M1 Garand, Mini-14/30/6.8 and so on.
Get one of the newer ones since it is more accurate.
I'm gonna side up with Hickok here. Why is accuracy so relevant? a gun that shoots 2 MOA groups at 100 yds. is way more accurate than you. Unless you're interested in bench resting and precision shooting (in which case you shouldn't be looking at a Mini-14), accuracy don't mean shit.
is there such thing as a 6.5 grendel kit for an AK style or AR style gun?

What is MOA?
What is MOA?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minute_of_arc
Do you guys have any suggestions for an alternative SKS stock? Preferably something with a pistol grip
What is MOA?
with the rifle perfectly stationary and totally clamped down, 1 MOA is 5 shots with a group of half an inch at 50 yards, 1 inch at 100 yards, 2 inches at 200 yards, etc. 2 MOA is 1 inch at 50 yards, 2 inches at 100 yards, 4 inches at 200 yards, and so on.
Do you guys have any suggestions for an alternative SKS stock? Preferably something with a pistol grip
Only one I know is the Tapco T6. I wish I knew more, myself.
Do you guys have any suggestions for an alternative SKS stock? Preferably something with a pistol grip
Tapco T6, ATI strikeforce, Choate side folder
Tapco T6, ATI strikeforce, Choate side folder
Dang, the only one that I really like is the Tapco T6.
