Went to the Panama city Beach gun show in Florida, never in my life have I seen so many AR's and so few nuggets. The only mosin there was a display model for a rail that replaces the rear sight. Saw a bunch of M1 Garands and a M1 carbine. M1 carbine is definitely going to be my next gun now.
Fixed stocks need the cutout in the back of the AR receiver to stay centered, though. So if you just screw on an A2 buttstock, there is nothing to keep it from just spinning around on the buffer tube.
I could probably jimmy something up that could fix that problem pretty easily. I think.

Ew. I'll try to avoid that if I ever fire a Garand
The M1 Garand is like Clint Eastwood's character in Gran Torino. Its a cranky old war vet who really doesn't like you no matter who you are, but lord have mercy on whoever it decides to get realy angry with (whoever is on the business end.)

Does James River Armory sell good guns?
Am I looking at the wrong place for Mosins, guys? I've checked out a few local shops and one had some M44s and a few 91/30s but even the 91/30s were marked at $275 and the M44s, which is what I want, were closer to $400. Has the market driven the price up or am I just looking in the wrong places? I've never bought a gun before so I don't know if it's something you haggle for or whatever.

I have a gun shop similar in that they overcharge $100-150 average over the market and/or retail price and I picked up my 91/30 at a gun show for $105 with the accessories, while my local shop wanted $160 for a 91/30 without the surplus kit.

I still see them in my local pawnshop for 100$ a pop.
Big 5 Sporting Goods or Gander Mountain typically has some in stock...
I've never seen a gun being sold at a Big 5. [editline]27th October 2012[/editline] Probably because I live in liberal Washington State. And by "liberal" i mean liberal.
Shit, does that mean I can't bring my guns in from Oregon when I go camping at Olympic?
if weed ballots are any way to measure a states liberal-ness (its not) then it be the same as Oregon, having "Oregon Cannabis Tax Act"
Ah, retarded American politics. Where liberal means they hate guns, where as in the rest of the world it means liberties
Ah, retarded American politics. Where liberal means they hate guns, where as in the rest of the world it means liberties
No, it means the same in Canada; idiots who are spendthrifts, restrict personal freedoms to have a more controlling state to "better regulate the effects of social programs," and ban guns for their own political gain and attempt to play it off as a "public safety" issue.
Ah, retarded American politics. Where liberal means they hate guns, where as in the rest of the world it means liberties
You're confusing classic liberalism with liberalism. Classic Liberalism was about liberties of the people, modern liberalism is more about social equality and the idea that people are too stupid to decide and do things for themselves so they need the big government to be their brain and to wipe their bottoms. The closest thing to Classical Liberalism you can find today is Libertarianism.

Is it bad that I want to buy an airsoft GP-30 grenade launcher and bolt it to my AK?

It'd be hilarious to have the matching shell for it, so when people start giving you weird looks because you have an AK grenade launcher and the only thing that comes out are BBs... would be funny to see
