Bah, screw it then. I'd rather have misrepresentation than the LGR. There's a range in Gormley, Target Sports Canada, and then there's another one by the Niagara region which is outdoor. I've not really gone out shooting much (evident by my lack of gun) so if you had places you knew where to shoot that would be very handy information.
I've been to both of those ranges, the one in Niagara is called Silverdale. They're cheaper, and Target Sports won't let you shoot rifle unless you buy their retardedly expensive frangible .223, and that's the only calibre they offer. Silverdale would be a much better option, especially since they have a 200m range where your rifle will actually be useful, unlike Target Sports' 25m indoor range. Target Sports is mostly a handgun range, Silverdale has accomodations for everything, including (if you ask nicely) shooting buckshot, and they have a trap range (you have to pay for the clays though).
Have you guys heard about this? From the wwbsite mosinmags.com : " The magazine extension clips on using the original mountithe Mosin floorplate, so it is a completely reversible, gunsmithfree, and non-destructive add-on!" Now mosin nagants get high capacity babby killing assault magazines too!
Check-check it: http://www.datamancer.net/mosinmags/

I thought if you brought your own guns to Target Sports that they would let you shoot them with your own ammo? If that's the case then that's mega-lame. Silverdale I've never been to but it seems very nice from your description and a lot more that I've read online. That would be a good place to go then. The car ride will be hell, though. Figure it would be best if we took one car and split on gas or something (brilliant money-saving techniques 101). Also, seeing as I've never met you before (except via FP) then if you try something funny I'll have you know I will be bringing a gun with me.
do you honestly believe a canadian would try and rob your or something?
do you honestly believe a canadian would try and rob your or something?
The joke being we both have a gun
That makes me want to rob someone at gunpoint with a Barrett .50 :v:
why are there so many anime and mlp avatars here guys change them you're making us look bad
I don't care that people have them, I just thought it was interesting at the amount of anime avatars.

They do have a nice store though, much better than the Lanz Shooting Supplies store at Silverdale, which looks like they tried to put a gun store in an old farmhouse's living room. Actually it doesn't look like that, it actually is a gun store in an old farmhouse's living room. The only issues I have with Silverdale is that they're only open weekends, and that's usually when I'm working, and they have rate of fire restrictions, no faster than 1 shot every 3 seconds, and that's really shit if you have a semi-auto or a pistol. The drive isn't so bad, it's just down the QEW until just before St. Catherine's, but last time I went down there I got a speeding ticket on The East Mall coming off the highway back home, and it was my birthday, so that was supergay.

I've been in there and it's very clean and they seem to have a wide range of guns to choose from. I've also been to the Gun Room in Waterloo (I think) and that store is also pretty good (and has loads of pre-owned weapons). Seems like finding a time to go would be a bitch then. Still, I've got to get my hands on the CFO again (I forgot to call them today) and then get my license and rifle transferred to me. Shame on the ticket, though. Hopefully you got off easy with it.

The CFO is open until 5 or 6 or something, you can still call them. Target Sports' website is geared towards their big novelty, which is "renting" a gun if you have no license. They do mention "approved ammunition" on their site, and when I called to ask about it, they told me no rifles. Most of their money, though, is from the exuberant prices they charge for ammo to use their "rental" guns, and most of the people using them don't have licenses, so they gear their site towards giving those people as much info as possible. The time I went there I rented, and between me and 2 friends we spent over $300 in under an hour on ammo across maybe 8 guns. There was this one silver P226 in .357Sig though that was so accurate it was amazing, but the ammo was like $10 for 10 shots or something, stupidly expensive.

The 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 250R that was made specifically for me shed a small tear. Yeah I shot that P226, their 1911, Ruger Mk II, side-by-side coach gun, AR15 (I think?), and Beretta 92FS. I've always meant to shoot one of their Glocks but I never bothered because it's so damned expensive. Time to call the CFO! -The guy processing my file is away from his desk until the 24th. Luckily it's the 26th and he's still not at his desk. I'm going to try again tomorrow around noon when I'm at university and hopefully I'll get a reply.

I wanted to shoot that side-by-side, the Norinco Coach Gun, but when we went it was busted, so we fired the Grizzly 8.5" pump instead. As for AR-15?, was it bullpup? If it was a bullpup and .223 it was the Tavor. I feel like we should probably take this to PM now, we're turning the gun thread into our discussion thread.

It was .223 but it sure as hell wasn't bullpup (as much as I would have wanted it to be). We probably should but Steam is better in all regards for conversation so that would be better. The coach was hilarious because when I fired both barrels at once I got the best rush ever. Also satisfying to do is to load the 1911 by yourself and rack the slide. Ah!
Finally had a chance to install my RPK's new stock set, and it doesn't fit. shit

are stripper clips a one time use thing or can you use them repeatedly i was thinking of getting 1 or 2 for my mosin just for fun
are stripper clips a one time use thing or can you use them repeatedly i was thinking of getting 1 or 2 for my mosin just for fun
You can use them as much as you want, you aren't really bending them or anything. Also, I might get pics up of the new shotgun I picked up today, but for now does anyone know if you can shoot slugs out of a modified choke? I know absolutely nothing about shotguns yet. :v:
are stripper clips a one time use thing or can you use them repeatedly i was thinking of getting 1 or 2 for my mosin just for fun
theyre reusable, just make sure you get some decent ones. cheap chinese reproductions don't feed well.
neither do american ones get genuine east bloc surplus

Also, I might get pics up of the new shotgun I picked up today, but for now does anyone know if you can shoot slugs out of a modified choke? Just be sure to only put lead slugs through it, steel won't swage like lead, and you'll get some serious deformations at the muzzle if it doesn't just blow up the gun. Basically worst case scenario with lead slugs is a bit of a bulge Usually improved cylinder chokes are considered best for shooting slugs. Fosters and Brennekes are actually better through modified than they are through cylinder.
are stripper clips a one time use thing or can you use them repeatedly i was thinking of getting 1 or 2 for my mosin just for fun
get a ton of them, they're cheap as fuck and it's a lot easier to just load the gun by hand than it is to load a stripper clip and then put the stripper clip into the gun
So I picked up a 91/30 off of a friend for 80 bucks. This is my...fourth Mosin. Three 91/30s and an M44. :P The nice thing about this one is it is an Ex-Sniper.
