People buy them here because they look like an AK, and the AK is banned simply off looks, so this gun is a slap in the face of that ban. I hear they have some feeding issues, though.
Never heard of any feeding issues. Earlier ORF receivers didn't have feed ramps though, so that could be what you're thinking of. This is only a problem with early ORF receivers and not a problem with VZ-58's in general. And yeah the Canadian ban on AK's is fucking stupid. Media fear mongering at its finest. I'm just building one because I've heard good things about them when compared to the AK. Similar reliability with better accuracy, it has a bolt hold open, much better ergonomics, lighter and, imo, better looks. Falling block actions just kick ass anyway.
I saw some infantry guys walking around with underbarrel M26's the other day. I didn't know that we actually used those things.
I saw some infantry guys walking around with underbarrel M26's the other day. I didn't know that we actually used those things.
They started fielding them last year. I didn't even know the thing was out of the experimental phase :v:.
What's their point? Breaching?
What's their point? Breaching?
Anything you might need a shotgun for. Breeching, crowd control, tree pruning, motivational speaking, weeding the garden. Really anything you can use a hammer for, this will do with the push of a button
Been working on that Flintlock, finished inletting the barrel and made the sideplate: [img_thumb]http://puu.sh/1ljGx[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://puu.sh/1ljGW[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://puu.sh/1ljH1[/img_thumb] Barrel fits so tight it squeaks when you set it in the channel.
I always loved the look of the VZ-58's receiver, but I think the furniture looks goofy. 'Specially the pistol grip.
It's you. YouTube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj7ZxhB5kfI $300 for a decent weapon
You know for such a cheesy looking gun I really don't mind it at all. I actually kinda like it.
I always loved the look of the VZ-58's receiver, but I think the furniture looks goofy. 'Specially the pistol grip.
I dunno, I've always been a fan of the furniture. It just looks so deliciously Soviet. The pistol grip does look pretty strange at first though, but it's actually an extremely ergonomic grip.
VZ.58 looks like an 8 year old tried to make an AK out of lego
VZ.58 looks like an 8 year old tried to make an AK out of lego
And then glued some wood shavings together.
I always loved the look of the VZ-58's receiver, but I think the furniture looks goofy. 'Specially the pistol grip.
basically what he said. the vz 58 looks retarded
Gun love <3
I like how all the cleaning supplies are downrange.
Yea, it's kinda stupid but they kept coming in every 10 minutes or so and used a snow shovel to push the shells down range lol (It's florida why you need snow shovel!?)
Yea, it's kinda stupid but they kept coming in every 10 minutes or so and used a snow shovel to push the shells down range lol (It's florida why you need snow shovel!?)
To push the shells down range, obviously! :v:
Obviously....
Gun love <3
Nice Yugo, mod list?
Yea, it's kinda stupid but they kept coming in every 10 minutes or so and used a snow shovel to push the shells down range lol (It's florida why you need snow shovel!?)
What a bunch of dunkasses
I don't see what the issue is. if the range is already cold why not go ahead and get some of the shells off the floor? especially since it's all concrete, if someone steps on a shell and slips and drops a gun and it discharges and the bullet hits someone in the lane who happens to be sweeping with a high-power rifle and he flinches and discharges his gun into the head of the person in the lane next to him and the bullet goes in and out his head and goes through every other person in the lane in the same fashion and everyone flinches and fires a shot into the main support beam and destroys it and causes the building to collapse killing anyone who wasn't already dead I could be a lawyer
Tomorrow's Friday, I got money burning in my pocket, here's your time to decide FP. Do I get an AR-7, 10/22 Takedown, or both? Or something else (single or plural) that equates to $750? [thumb]http://suburbansurvivalblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/ar7-22rifle-003.jpg[/thumb] vs. [thumb]http://www.impactguns.com/Data/Default/Images/uploads/ruger/ruger_11100_td_b.jpg[/thumb] I like both rifles, and I like how the AR-7 and the 10/22 Takedown can both fit in the same mini bag since they're both so compact and lightweight.
both is silly since they both fill the same role. out of the two I'd take the AR-7 since the receiver and barrel fit into the back of the stock
Nice Yugo, mod list?
Tapco Stock system (no bayonet slit) Command arms cheek rest UTG Scope, Believe it's a 4x I can't seem to find it online now... UTG barrel mounted bipods Tapco shell deflector Choate scope mount I had to get new scope rings because the UTG ones suck bawls, I took the scope off maybe 2-3 times and the threads just got demolished. I forgot the name of the new ones I have. The bipods are shite, every 30-40 rounds they come loose so I'm going to look into rail mounted ones. I had to cut up the shell deflector because the tapco one does not work with anything other than their dust cover, I manged to place it between the scope mount and the dust cover, then bolt it to the rail itself. It jammed 1 time because a shell hit the deflector and dropped back in, that was over 300 rounds ago lol
What do you guys think of 220 gr loads for a 300 win mag? Looking to have some really heavy hitting rounds with a ton of power. I want to knock some steel plates around at the range :v:
I'm only 18 but for my first gun I either want a Kel-Tec PMR-30 or a Colt Delta Elite. Any advice on other handguns based off of the 1911 that are chambered in 10mm? Also, I live in the ridiculously liberal state of MA, so I better check up on local gun laws.

Now that I think about it, some Kimber Customs come in 10mm as well. Haven't seen one of those around for a while though.
Got an M1 Garand from the CMP over the summer up in alabama, thinking of getting a Krag Jorgensen next. Thoughts?
