Krags are cool, but a little expensive for what they are
Krags are cool, but a little expensive for what they are
Krag? Expensive? What are you smo- Oh wait, you're not Norwegian at all are you? :v: Norwegian Krag Masterrace reporting in.
Krag? Expensive? What are you smo- Oh wait, you're not Norwegian at all are you? :v: Norwegian Krag Masterrace reporting in.
Yeah, Krags are 'Merricuh fuq eah so they're expensive here due to all the unfeathered eagles buying up every single one and making the price skyrocket. Then you go to a gun show and a guy has three of em for $1000 each along with ten Springfields for $1200, four M1 Carbines for $900 and about a dozen Garands for $1500.

They be gouging.
That's odd, all the m1 carbines at my gun store are $500-$700. They be gouging.
ones at gun shows always have the prices jacked up. Went to one recently and there were about a dozen tables set up all dedicated to WW1-WW2 firearms, garands for 1500$, M1's for 1000$, and 1903's for 1200$s. most were in shit condition too, or were non issued surplus.
M1 Carbines are probably the single most faked and "put-together" guns out there. I'm usually very wary of ones that are in "unissued" condition or 100% WWII spec. 99% chance they were "restored" by a collector, which is fine, but you shouldn't pay high-dollar for those.
With those prices on M1 carbines, you might as well buy a new one, like from A.O.

Unsporterized is maybe 600$, tops. I got lucky and bought mine off a dead guy for 100$

My last AK photo was a bit blurry. Here is one that is a little better... [t]http://i.imgur.com/Tpp6B.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/PVhvl.jpg[/t]
excuse my ignorance, but wtf is on your forward grip?
Magpul AFG
thats looks really uncomfortable
I like it because it gives a 45 degree angle surface to hold on to. It also lets me get my hand a bit farther out over the barrel, meaning a more steady hold on the gun. Also helps keep my hand away from the retaining ring for the handguard, which I've noticed gets VERY hot after a couple mags, even relatively slow at a second or two between shots. [editline]2nd November 2012[/editline] Magpul designed it with the thumb over bore concept of holding the gun. But obviously that doesn't work out so well with AK iron sights.

Americans! tell me, how does this work: You're 18, you buy a rifle in a pistol calibre (say a lever action rifle or a Hi-Point) and you go to buy ammo. Will they sell it to you? or do you need to get someone else to buy it for you?

On that note, couple years ago I had a girl at the register ask me if the .30-06 I was buying for my 1903 was for a pistol. :v:
