I haven't seen the cheap polish surplus for a while outside of gun shows but aimsurplus has prvi for around $16/50 [editline]4th November 2012[/editline] http://www.natchezss.com/brand.cfm?contentID=productDetail&brand=YC&prodID=YCAM953&prodTitle=Polish%20Surplus%207.62X25%20Tokarev%201260%20Round%20Tin it's out of stock and there's no telling if they'll ever get it back but there you go [editline]4th November 2012[/editline] I've seen polish go as cheap as $80/1260
We're stealing all the Czech surplus from you up here, I hear the ATF classifies it as "armour-piercing pistol ammo" because it's steel jacketed, and won't let it in the country. Oh well, more for us then, it's great to feed our Russian-made Toks that cost $179 and any 1911 conversion kits we have.
other than that those baby pistols are pretty uncomfortable to hold, no. that's a problem with CC oriented pistols rather than the kel-tecs themselves though.
So they have no functional issues?
So they have no functional issues?
none that I'm aware of. I've handled them both and they're both pretty sturdy guns with a smooth action and fairly decent trigger
none that I'm aware of. I've handled them both and they're both pretty sturdy guns with a smooth action and fairly decent trigger
How are they uncomfortable? Just asking because I don't have a way of firing most weapons prior to purchase.
So they have no functional issues?
really heavy trigger pull
really heavy trigger pull
Heavy compared to...?
Heavy compared to...?
Maybe it just has a heavy trigger? Does it have to be compared to something? Do you need to ask such inane questions?
Maybe it just has a heavy trigger? Does it have to be compared to something? Do you need to ask such inane questions?
Trying to make a connection to another weapon I've fired before... Why be so aggressive?
Heavy compared to...?
just objectively, it has a heavy trigger pull for a small 9mm handgun you could literally do 5 minutes of research to get the exact numbers
How are they uncomfortable? Just asking because I don't have a way of firing most weapons prior to purchase.
grips are too small
Heavy compared to...?
typical DA trigger pull, breaks at around 6 lbs
grips are too small typical DA trigger pull, breaks at around 6 lbs
Thanks
DaCommie - I see you're over in that thread in Sensationalist Headlines. What a fucking joke, "hurr look at America! guns mad it bad" "hurr lets ignore all the other countries in the world with lots of guns and are perfectly fine, and assume the USs problems are just because of guns and not anything else!" Just a thread of idiots with no understanding of the data they posted to "back them up" The graph they posted showed gun crime had been going down since the 1996 band, and at the same rate before it This shit pisses me off

Often, it's like talking to a wall, and it's extraordinarily predictable. They often use a cyclical argument, and rely on personal insults to attempt to defame the person, in hopes that if the person loses credibility through insults, people will ignore their opinion. I'm now pointing out the downward trend existing prior, and that correlation must rely on the rate that violent crime drops increasing post-ban for it to have been effective, since the drop existed prior to the ban. Chances are it doesn't, I know it doesn't in Canada, but I don't know about the particulars of Australia.
200 is close enough.
Get a CZ 82. Its a double stack, ambi version of a Makarov. 12+1 rounds. Also has one of the best triggers I've ever felt on a surplus gun. Better than my Glock, and Walther P22. [editline]4th November 2012[/editline] Also, a picture of my PSL: (semi rare POSP-6 (6x42mm), not your normal POSP-8) [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6688244/pictures/2012-11-04 20.03.34.jpg[/t] And one of my Late Production Norinco SKS: (New Ijk 2-6x28mm Scope, Tapco 20rd Mag, "Cutts" Comp/Brake on barrel - by FAR the best brake available. ZERO Muzzle climb.) [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6688244/pictures/2012-11-04 20.08.48.jpg[/t] I have a lot more guns, just not any are in pictures right now. Feel free to ask though.

Like you said, it's like arguing with a brick wall. The people have concrete opinions they refuse to change and hold double standards. I had someone there disagree with me so thoroughly they felt the need to buy me a title. Hey folks, I am making my next firearm purchase a WW2 period correct M1 Carbine. I would like to know anything to look for in particular, (Felix already educated me a lot, thanks again bby, but I just like lots of opinions), any thoughts or opinions on the M1 platform, and maybe some pointers for a price to pay. Thanks!
I'm going back to Georgia in a few months and plan to get my carry & conceal permit. I really want to get a Sig Sauer P229; apparently they make a wonderful carry gun.
If you're a big guy maybe. Sig P22x's are fatter than glocks on the grip under the hammer. Kind of awkward for conceal carry. They're concealed, but you can still tell that you have a gun on you. Unless you're some big ass dude, as I said. A guy like me, my only hope is an in the waistband walther PPS or Springfield XD Compact. I've got a Glock 27 and it's just too fat, I can't stand it
Marlin 39A - .22 S/L/LR Lever action, Remington 870 Action Express Super Mag - 12Ga (I keep it like this behind my door so I can grab it and go whe I need to check the land for intruders, it happens more than I'd care to admit.), Stainless Ruger Mini-30 - 7.62x39mm, My other Norinco commercial SKS (anyone seen a stock like that? The 4 holes, the red color, etc? [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6688244/pictures/2012-11-04%2021.39.34.jpg[/t] The Obligatory "Handgun with shit in the trigger guard" picture. Walther P22 - 2010 Production, late model "B" mags, "Key Safety" removed, Magazine safety removed (therefore, is now "drop-free"), Sear polished. Awesome eye relief, and very clear for the price, $100 out the door with rings. [editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
If you're a big guy maybe. I have a 22 in .40 and I love it, but its kinda large for carry, I'm looking at the 23 and the (I think?) 27 in .40.

'44. Plus nearly all of the Carbines went through a rebuild or two after WWII and again after Korea, so it's nearly impossible to find one that doesn't have a bayo lug that wasn't put there by a collector. Also, if an M1 was ever converted to an M2, it is still an M2 even after removal of the FA parts according to ATF, so if you get a converted M1, RUN!

Others like Plainfield Machine are made with GI parts and generally reliable.
I had someone there disagree with me so thoroughly they felt the need to buy me a title
Don't worry, hate speech SHOULD be flat out legal no exceptions. First amendment, bitches. Anyway, getting my New Vaquero in 2 days, so excited!
Are Underwood M1s considered 'good' carbines?
Anything USGI is a 'good' carbine. Just the commercial ones are generally bad, with Plainfield and Iver Johnson being the occasional exception
So if I buy a lower receiver, will I have to install all the little parts myself? Or does a fully assembled lower receiver vary from manufacturer to manufacturer? I just hope that combining an upper and lower is as easy as shoving those two pins in: BTW, the lower I'm thinking of getting is a Spikes Tactical lower with the zombie engraving on the side.

Rock-Ola, Winchester, NPM and IBM are among the most prized, but Irwin-Pedersons are the rarest and most expensive and sought after (ironic because they lost their contract to Saginaw SG after ~3500 units were produced because all of them failed to pass spec.) The only ones rarer than Irwin-Pederson are the ~300 produced by Commercial Controls Corporation (formerly National Postal Meter[NPM]) less than 5 known examples survive

Spikes are great lowers to start with. And combining a lower and upper is just as easy as you said- just push the pins and you are ready to go! So I'm considering getting an EBR stock for my socom 16

[editline]5th November 2012[/editline] Also, according to Wikipedia, it looks like the MK14/M39 are basically the same, but the MK14 has an 18in barrel, where the M39 has a 22in barrel.
Any Australia gun users in here?
