Look ever since that hardass moderator we used to have rules are a tiny bit loose around here.
Mostly the rule that said 'you were supposed to help people improove not just tell them they suck' doesn't exist anymore.
My advice to you would be: Go find a lot of pictures of naked people and trees and animals and things like that and print it out or put it on half of the screen and in your MS Paint window try to draw exactly the same thing. You'll learn with time and you'll get the hang of your mouse/touch pad.
But you need to be stubborn and draw things as they are in real life, don't try to caricaturise them yet. That comes later :)

I wasn't using my tablet because I was in NC, NY, and Mass. I couldn't bring my huge desktop, because I'm sure it would get broken.

Everything wewt draws is by mouse, he doesn't even own a tablet and IMO he's really really good.
And I've seen tons of pixel artists use only mouses, so not being next to a tablet is not an excuse.
Oh and I've actually seen decent art made with a touch pad.
