Gentlemen, to speak for my nation as a whole, I would like to say something.

I cannot agree with you..
you ignoring several facts.
America is allied with Saudi Arabia, The SA was at risk during the early 90's by Saddam Hussein(Iraq)..
after he lost back at the 90's, he came back and started to do shit with his military at 2003..
Your country saved a lot of Kuwaitis for instance. But now your army tries to secure the new iraqi government while you get brainwashed back at home.
but America has created the situation in Afghanistan by arming the aphgan insurgents against the soviet union when it tried to take over. American senator worked hard on arming them for good reason but later the Taliban was created using these weapons, and Al-Qaeda.

want to try and justify the Iraq war, or any of the 10 conflicts we've been in since the cold war started, or when we supplied weapons to Afghan rebels, who then used those against us later?

korea - we gave birth to south korea and they give us many tons of kimchi in return
vietnam - we saved some south vietnamese that didn't want to be in a communist vietnam or something. i guess.
gulf war - saved kuwaitis asnd shite
YOU KNOW these wars aren't very justifiable

While I can agree that it was a great experience overall, I have to say that these pictures are about 1% of the whole service. For example behind the pictures from explosives training was at least 4 hours of hard work by around 40 guys I think, to set up all the explosives and their framework and so on :)
Also I was really lucky to have such an enjoyable job (IFV gunner). Nothing extremely physical yet challenging and real responsibilities too. And there's also the fact that you get 6-12 months taken away from you when you could be studying or working during that time. But it all depends on the attitude I guess.
It helped a lot thinking there are actually people who would pay money to do the things we were ordered to do and got even paid for it (11 euros per day woohoo!)

Well getting stationed in Europe or Japan is pretty nice, if you can swing it.

I'm not justifying war-crimes committed by bored soliders.
it happens, they get punished as they have been asking for.
look carefuly about korea, you saved them from communism (hunger, misery, boredom)..
btw, at the gulf war, Iraq was firing Scud missiles with chemical/biological warheads at Israel and other places too.
maybe because Saddam Hussein was angry about the nuclear reactor we destroyed at Iraq at 1981(yay). we probably saved others too by doing it..
so in israel we had alot of gas masks, I don't know much about the gulf war but i know only one died in Israel. The americans also saved us by fighting back Iraq and later developing the Patriot Missile system that became one of the best anti ballistic missile systems.

The stealth refers to the lack of radar signature, also in open seas that would be pretty hard to notice at range.
Yep, because the September 11th attacks were just a little "twitch in our direction".
Yes, because the September 11th attacks warranted a ten year war and the invasion of two seperate nations, thousands of drone strikes, and the loss of over 5,000 men and women in a war that has obviously turned itself into either a clusterfuck that we'll never pull out of, or a situation where when we DO eventually pull out, will rip itself to pieces.
Send in special forces, use an elite team, that's how you get who you want. That's why Seal Team 6 was able to do what it did.
No, what we did wasn't even close to justifiable, and even if it was, we went about things all wrong. That should be evident by the last 8 years.

With more than 31 fucking casualties.
If you really don't want loss of American life, nuke the place, or call in artillery every time you get in contact, but you can't do that because of civilian deaths.
Anyways, there aren't enough people in things like the SEALs and SAS to occupy a whole country.

We had to invade to take care of the insurgency that lingers in Iraq and Afghanistan. They (they being the ANA and Iraqi Army) needed our help, they could not control the Taliban on their own. Plus when we invaded we were actually fighting Saddam's troops because they were under his regime at the time. And the attacks do warrant an invasion. What about Pearl Harbor? I never hear anyone saying those attacks didn't warrant going to war with the Axis powers (I know that wasn't the only reason the US got involved in WWII, there were many reasons. It was one of the reasons, I believe.)
And we have already pulled out of Iraq, I don't think we have any combat personnel there any longer. The Iraqi Army is capable of dealing with the threat now, we helped them restore their government. We will be completely out of Iraq by the end of this year. We (being the US and other Coalition forces) are still in Afghanistan training the Afghan National Army though.
Like WubWub said, SOF teams are too small in number to deal with an entire terrorist organization by themselves. We needed our full military potential. If you think we went about it wrong, then how do you personally think would've been the right way to deal with it?
Also, the SEALs are so valuable even 31 deaths is a HUGE HUGE HUGE loss.
They spend years training them, giving them the best, so if they die it's a loss of a huge investment.

They probably cost upwards of several million dollars to train each
Yeah, so thats over a 93 million dollar loss, probably more considering the validity of future missions.
