• Woman gets pregnant with brainless baby, has it anyway

The only reason why she "loves" the baby is because she's fucking pumped full of a chemical called oxytocin. This is known as the 'love chemical' in the sense that it causes completely unconditional love to whatever it's directed at. It is also a hormone the zyogote releases during pregnancy, causing the mother to love the child. If I was the doctor, I would have gotten a court order to force her to abort the fetus. What she is doing is not only cruel, it's completely inhumane and should not be allowed.
People who are able to stand the pictures of this baby would make great surgeons.
Tbh I was quite unaffected by the pictures.
=l scarred me for life.
Islam should be metaphorically shot into the sun too.
What?
People who are able to stand the pictures of this baby would make great surgeons.
I'd rather use that ability for something more useful, like aiding Humanity as a whole instead of just dozens of people.
That's inhumane, who's the dumbass that let her have it?
I'd rather use that ability for something more useful, like aiding Humanity as a whole instead of just dozens of people.
People who are able to stand the pictures of this baby would make great surgeons.
I don't have any troubles watching those picture. But if I saw one of those babies in real life :/, I don't think I would handle it.

It's released during pregnancy to temporarily disable the brain of the fetus in order to prevent damage during delivery.
Steady hands could better be used to build Biomedical equipment that the surgeons could use, since it requires Fine Motor Ski.... Fuck, scratch that, I'd rather use Fine Motor Skills for more selfish reasons.
Not exactly correct. What Oxytocin does is dependent on where it's located. It's released during pregnancy to temporarily disable the brain of the fetus in order to prevent damage during delivery.
Which is non-existent in this case.
I don't have any troubles watching those picture. But if I saw one of those babies in real life :/, I don't think I would handle it.
I've seen a Harlequin ichthyosis baby in real life.
holy shit
Steady hands could better be used to build Biomedical equipment that the surgeons could use, since it requires Fine Motor Ski.... Fuck, scratch that, I'd rather use Fine Motor Skills for more selfish reasons.
Plastic Surgeon.
Which is non-existent in this case.
No, there's a brain stem.
I've seen a Harlequin ichthyosis baby in real life.
Worse than an Anecephalic baby? I would imagine that a scaly yellow baby with blood red eyes would be more frightening than a baby with no brain.
Plastic Surgeon.
I'm not that soulless. :v:
I've seen a Harlequin ichthyosis baby in real life.
Holy christ. I think I might have vomited if I saw one. To those saying, "It's only natural she wants her child to live," it's not a child. It's a mindless bag of operating organs without consciousness or will moving only on reflex. To those saying she's torturing the baby, same statement. It can't feel anything.
I don't have any troubles watching those picture. But I'm now immune, which is something you have to be if you want to make it in the medical profession.

Also, this might possibly be even more disturbing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craniopagus_parasiticus
I'm just glad that the baby is probably unable to feel anything.
Also, this might possibly be even more disturbing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craniopagus_parasiticus
I'm not even clicking
It's not really cruel, the baby doesn't feel anything. It is creepy though.
The thing is, even if it did 'feel' pain, there would be no real part of the brain to process it. To keep something like that alive, is, well, just asinine. However, the benefit of keeping it alive would be experimentation; i.e. how long can it live if assisted? Can the brain stem somehow compensate for very basic low level thinking?
I'm not even clicking
There aren't pictures, I promise, it just highlights what the condition is.
I'm not even clicking
There are no pics. This thread's pretty fast.
After a long debate with myself I decided I won't click any links and quietly exit this thread.
