WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD?
Their is 6 billion people in the world, everyone not going to be moral and logical. Everyone is different, even if you think religion brainwashes everyone as being completely illogical.
Uh, ok? So keeping the baby alive denies people medicine? read the story. I doubt giving the baby medicines is denying sick people from being cured your argument sucks.
Oi, Cleetus. Let's try to think this out. The baby is currently on Prednisolone, which is costly. Prednisolone is not something one takes for a while and is "cured"- there are several conditions where one might need a supply of the stuff their entire life. You're telling me a free supply of the drug is better off in the hands of an unfeeling sack of meat than another thinking, feeling, conscious and aware human being?
Yes, keeping the baby alive uses very expensive medicine which is letting live for an extra number of weeks, instead of using the expensive medicine to treat someone with lives ahead of them.
"But as my mom swung by the clinic today to talk to our nurse practitioner, well what do you know... someone had just dropped off a bunch of Pulmicort and Ventolin that they didn't need anymore." Quoted from her blog. She got medicine for free someone didn't need it so they gave it to her this tells me the medicine being used for her to stay alive isn't in high demand, your argument still sucks. The mother knows the baby won't ever be normal and won't have a long life but she's taking advantage of being with her baby she's a mother her baby breaths and moves even if it can't think or feel to her it's alive and she can't be denied keeping her baby alive by any means.
Really, I do have to feel sorry for her, but I mean come on. If the baby doesn't have a brain how is it going to live a normal life? Honestly, the only good thing for the poor baby would have been to abort it. If I was in the same situation I probably would have gotten it aborted.

It is a waste.
This is a step up from Fetus Mom, though.

Because they don't. At least, nothing like that. Codeine and trial shit, sure. What she's describing is hint hint wink wink nudge nudge theft
Dunno if anyone posted this already, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby_K
Baby K was born at Fairfax Hospital in Virginia. At the time of her birth, she was missing most of her brain, including the cortex; all that remained was the brainstem, that portion of the brain responsible for autonomic and regulatory functions, such as the control of respiration, the heartbeat and blood pressure.[1] The baby's mother was apparently aware of her condition prior to her birth, but chose to carry the child to term because of "a firm Christian faith that all life should be protected".
Sounds familiar?

The baby won't be alive much longer and the medicine being used on the baby isn't depriving some other sick people from acquiring the medicine.

Medicine is a very valuable commodity.
How do you know? Medicine is a very valuable commodity.
More valuable than Gold in many places, in fact Caribbean Pirates valued it immensely, specifically because it would cure them of Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia.
As a girl who probably couldn't even go through with a downs pregnancy (I'm not strong enough to raise such a kid)...I'm thinking what the hell is she doing? She's mad! The child has no brain, she will never be able to do anything in life, she's a vegetable...they switch off life supports when people are so brain damaged that they've become vegetables right? Because they are not really alive anymore. It must be heartbreaking to be told your child is going to be born missing a huge chunk of its brain but seriously, she's living in a fantasy that her baby is ok. She seems to be pretending that everything can be normal but if that baby lives long enough to age into a toddler it'll just get more and more obvious. I feel sorry for what's happened to her but I think she's quite deluded. When you have to tape your babies eyeballs in place you know something's not right.
The baby won't be alive much longer and the medicine being used on the baby isn't depriving some other sick people from acquiring the medicine.
It may not be "depriving" anyone of it- but it could be going, for free, to people who are currently paying for it for themselves or (actually conscious) loved ones. Somebody who actually needs it ought to be getting it for free- and, if you want to be really technically, no fucking nurses ought to be sneaking any out. Raises costs for everyone else.
How do you know? Medicine is a very valuable commodity.
Your mother is unhappy to hear that.
Your mother is unhappy to hear that.
My mother is more concerned with other things about me.
Why the fuck did I click the wiki link!?!
No brain, eh? Will grow up to be a republican
No brain, eh? Will grow up to be a republican
a little too easy but meh
No brain, eh? Will grow up to be a republican
Update: The baby has a rare disorder that causes profuse bleeding from the heart.
Poor baby.
What's her email address? there's a question I really want to ask her and I'm either a blind retard or her email is no longer on her blog page.
No brain, eh? Will grow up to be a republican
At least it has a Spine, unlike liberals.

Pulmicort Reduces inflammation and helps prevent asthma symptoms By breathing through a nebulizer, the medicine goes to your child’s lungs Available in a once-or-twice-daily dosing option. That's the medicine being used on the baby. I don't know but I don't think the baby getting free medicine is going to affect other children from getting it. I understand where you're coming from but to deny the mother from being with her child isn't right either even if the child is missing part of the brain.
Update: The baby has a rare disorder that causes profuse bleeding from the heart.
See Facepunch? This guy has the right idea of how to zing someone. Take a note.
