M15 is the Armalite model.
They sold the rights to the M16/AR-15 to Colt 40 years ago, with intent to market & sell the AR-18 which was the same thing, only made with fewer machined parts and less complex machinery.

I don't really see why the rage is about gun damage, it's like people instantly rate someone dumb if he talks about which one does more damage,
In reality, people are trying to create weapons that do more damage, not some compact no recoil bolt action shotgun rifles that shoot tiny pellets and do absolutely no damage.

If someone wants little recoil, a bolt action isn't the best choice...
And it's not like some barret that shoots 50 BEE EM GEEE BOOOLET instantly kills you to the leg whereas a .38 to the chest is something you put a bandaid on.
Besides, a crappy shot that hits is much more effective than a effective shot you miss. That's why no real shooters (police, military) use any .500 ULTRAMAGNUMS for anything.

I would love to see someone try that. The gun weighs over 50 pounds. Of course, the gun does have enough power, but trying to do that while firing from the hip would be very hard.

That's more like a grenade lethal radius. More like it would INJURE anyone in a 20 m radius.
I would have thought the 14.5mm Soviet would be the biggest bullet, Its twice the power of the .50. After that you start moving onto cannon shells.

One of those 20mm AT rifles probably would be the biggest I'd call a rifle. (as it can be carried by a single person)
And the diameter isn't always more power, with a smaller diameter you need less power to penetrate...

You may be right actually, I remember something about a 20mm Japanese AT rifle in the 2WW, it was a complete failure and they ended up sticking a carriage on it. Theres that modern one anyway, And I'm also fairly sure of a 15mm German MG for aircraft.
I'm still sure the 14.5 Soviet has twice the power of the .50.
