Ohhh , see this is why England Sucks, I dot understand gun jokes
I'm with Clarky. Even the police don't carry guns. It sucks harder than a Dyson.
Why's that? Just curious. [editline]09:23AM[/editline] Personally, I dislike them because they seem too big for the round they fire.
Less recoil (Like you said, pretty big for a 9mm), decent accuracy, and damn reliable. You can also buy it in .45 I believe.
The only time ive seen police with guns was at an airport, the had g36c's
I love the Beretta M9/92FS. Probably my favorite handgun of all time.
Of the handguns I've shot the Beretta was my favorite as well because I liked the grips and I liked the way it was balanced. It's a personal preference deal. Some people like them, some people don't. Like any other handgun.
Less recoil (Like you said, pretty big for a 9mm), decent accuracy, and damn reliable. You can also buy it in .45 I believe.
Nope, just 9mil and .40S&W.
Would anyone be kind enough to "bullet buttonify" non-ca legal guns?
Would anyone be kind enough to "bullet buttonify" non-ca legal guns?
Why? Do you live in my state as well? Because a bullet button is just a modified magazine release. Just swap it out for a standard mag release of an OLL gun. OLL meaning "Off List Lower". If you want a Colt or Bushmaster AR-15, you have to use a lower receiver built by someone else (DPMS, Del-Ton, etc.), then you fit the bullet button before putting the rest of the gun together and it's legal. They also make them for FALs, AKs and a few other rifles. Personally I wouldn't go through the hassle. I'm planning on getting a featureless centerfire autoloading rifle of some kind. Such as one of the new Mini 14s. Or perhaps an SKS. Partially because they're cheaper, partially because I don't want to be inconvenienced by the bullet button nonsense and partially because I know if you have any scary-looking gun in your car and you get pulled over you're going to jail either way. Even if it is legal by the letter of the law. Calguns.org is a forum of Californian gun owners. There is no shortage of horror stories such as "I was shooting my AR15 with a bullet button at the range, a cop saw it and the next day my door was busted down." or "I got pulled over, a cop saw my OLL with trigger lock and all and arrested me because he assumed it was an assault weapon." The people in these stories usually prove themselves innocent after a prolonged trial and tens of thousands of dollars in lawyer's fees. But I'd still rather not deal with the hassle. So yeah, it's legal, but it's also a gray zone that can potentially get you arrested even if they don't have a chance of actually convicting you. Unless your lawyer is an idiot. Or a public defender. Then you're fucked. Besides which I value an easy to use magazine release far more than I value a pistol grip, flash hider, foregrip or whatever other cosmetic feature they feel like making illegal. But that's personal preference.
Rofl. The military doesn't pick stuff because it's superior. They pick stuff for logistical reasons. A handgun isn't really much of a priority to the military, it's a weapon of last resort. They can't afford to just give everyone a $1000 handgun that they'll probably never use anyway. Not many soldiers even carry a handgun.
Correction NO infantrymen, unless they are officers, are even ALLOWED to carry a handgun, I can't speak for other MOS's or for the Marines, but when I was in basic we were specifically told, that unless we were officers, we could not carry handguns, or any sidearms really.

Oh I see. You can have an STG 556 with whatever feature you like so long as it has the bullet button and you use 10 round mags. It can have thumbhole stocks, pistol grips, foregrips, fash hiders, everything. But the average person doesn't know that. They'll see it and assume it's an AW. Which is especially bad when dealing with cops. Contrary to popular belief cops don't know much more about guns than any other average person. Most only know what they've been trained. So they can potentially see a legal gun with a bullet button and assume it isn't legal because it still looks scary. Which will cause you a lot of headaches.

It's for that reason why I'm getting the fuck out of here when I finish my schooling. Only 5. More. Years. FUCK
Well my shooting range never has cops and hell, they even have an OLL with a BB for renting.
Trouble is when you own one you better have a lot of confidence that if you're pulled over and searched the officer knows what an OLL is.

Guns go bang bang
If I were to buy myself a pistol, my first one, and I don't want to spend much... what should I be looking into getting and where?
If I were to buy myself a pistol, my first one, and I don't want to spend much... what should I be looking into getting and where?
For a first pistol I would recommend getting a CZ-82, there cheap, reliable, fairly common to find, and ammo is decently cheap as well, if you look in the right places you can get one for around 200$.
Actual AUG or an STG-556?
STG-556. To be honest I'm really not all that pleased with it, it's such a pain in the ass to use, everything on it is so stiff and crude and hard to manipulate. I'm considering selling it once the sale is over, since the retail price for these is like $1900 and I only paid $1,050. I really want to get an SVT-40.

It is also slightly less powerful. One thing I've been reading up on recently is the Ruger P series. The newer ones, P95 and so on, have polymer frames where Ruger used some spiffy industrial process to save a whole bunch of money on the manufacturing. As a result the guns run just over 300$ new. And they're pretty much your average wonder-nine. Affordable easy to find 15 round mags, 9x19mm, excellent durability and reliability. The older P89 series is metal framed and has some other small differences but takes the same magazines. Because they don't use the cheaper polymer frame they cost more when they're new. Used ones often run around 200-300$. Modern P95. Older P89. There are also versions in .40S&W that use 10 round magazines and .45ACP that use 8 rounders. But they cost slightly more. Externally they look identical to their 9mm counterparts. More info: http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg05-e.htm I also highly recommend at least one handgun or rifle in .22LR if you don't own one already. If you don't own any firearms start with one of those in order to learn the basics. We've got the Ruger MK 2 or 3 Browning Buck Mark (granted, a tad expensive) Beretta Neos S&W 22A Walther P22 And a wide variety of other models to chose from, including revolvers, single-shots, etc.
Never buy from them, they take old Russian Capture Mausers, refinish them and sell them like they're all matching, non captured guns that Hitler rubbed his dick all over. I saw them trying to sell refinished Yugoslavian rifles for $1,000. http://www.checkpointcharlies.com/ Buy your Mausers from there, they're a great store.
How do they work? Do you need to have it shipped to an FFL or straight to your house?
Would you do the stuff to make it California legal? I'm DYING for one.
I don't think I can.
So where would I go about buying a gun then? Internet? Gun show? Gun shop?
Hey guys I have a problem. We bought a new 18 inch barrel for our shotgun dad has been having for 20 years. Well the barrel fits on perfectly but 1 problem, the 7 shot tube goes past the barrel. Its one of those remington 7 shot extensions that goes out a little further than others. One of those. Dad was wondering that if the pellets will hit the extension or we should get one of those tacstar extensions?
So where would I go about buying a gun then? Internet? Gun show? Gun shop?
D. All of the above.
I don't know much about weapons. But i want THIS I guess i have a fetish for really big revolvers.
I don't think I can.
Just put a bullet button on it. They have 'em for sale for the STG-556.
