If I were to buy myself a pistol, my first one, and I don't want to spend much... what should I be looking into getting and where?
ah don't listen to those mugs, get this http://www.jgsales.com/product_info.php/handguns/beretta/p/beretta-92f-9mm%2C-4-9in-good-to-very-good-condition/cPath/16_153/products_id/4111 It's "relatively" cheap for what it is, but this is assuming you have experience with guns and don't necessarily need to start on a .22lr pistol. Even then, from what I've read, Beretta 92's are some of the most controllable and easiest to shoot 9mm pistols. Never shot one, so I can't comment. Maybe others can! even then, having a nice .22lr pistol is both economical, practical, and fun; I hear Buckmarks are pretty stellar (better than Rugers), but I don't know about the pricing of those
Hey guys I have a problem. We bought a new 18 inch barrel for our shotgun dad has been having for 20 years. Well the barrel fits on perfectly but 1 problem, the 7 shot tube goes past the barrel. Its one of those remington 7 shot extensions that goes out a little further than others. One of those. Dad was wondering that if the pellets will hit the extension or we should get one of those tacstar extensions?
No, they will not hit the extension. Hell the pellets are still within the wad at that point once exiting the barrel.
I don't know much about weapons. But i want THIS I guess i have a fetish for really big revolvers.
Gamer.
Gamer.
Not really gamer and moreso of a uninformed person.
btw any true gentleman knows that the pinnacle of .22LR pistol design is a High-Standard http://www.highstandard.com/ [editline]04:31AM[/editline]
Not really gamer and moreso of a uninformed person.
maybe he just really likes revolvers and big guns; sure it's impractical and expensive to both purchase and feed but still a gun's a gun. you wouldn't bash someone that likes a 1911 just because they're ubiquitous in CoD and movies don't be dicks :(

I'm dead accurate with them.
Well 1911's are great guns. I'm dead accurate with them.
if you're a bearhunter .500 magnum revolvers are great guns too :smugdog:
No, they will not hit the extension. Hell the pellets are still within the wad at that point once exiting the barrel.
Thank you and you too professional for giving me a good answer.
if you're a bearhunter .500 magnum revolvers are great guns too :smugdog:
Meh, why don't you just use a .700 Nitro Express? You could hit anywhere and kill the bloody thing.
Meh, why don't you just use a .700 Nitro Express? You could hit anywhere and kill the bloody thing.
because hunting bears with pistols is the ultimate sport
because hunting bears with pistols is the ultimate sport
Make a pistol in .700 nitro express :smug:.
Not really gamer and moreso of a uninformed person.
How am I am uninformed? Whats wrong with the 500. other than being big as fuck? And I am a gamer, but even then i have never seen a 500. on any games.
How am I am uninformed? Whats wrong with the 500. other than being big as fuck? And I am a gamer, but even then i have never seen a 500. on any games.
Being big as fuck. Large rounds are not very practical.
How am I am uninformed? Whats wrong with the 500. other than being big as fuck?
The fact that there are plenty of rounds that do the same damned thing a lot cheaper.
And I am a gamer, but even then i have never seen a 500. on any games.
Because they're too busy oogling over DEAGLE BRAND DEAGLEs.
The fact that there are plenty of rounds that do the same damned thing a lot cheaper. Because they're too busy oogling over DEAGLE BRAND DEAGLEs.
Though Desert Eagles may not be practical, I've heard the Jerichos are really nice guns.
Though Desert Eagles may not be practical, I've heard the Jerichos are really nice guns.
Haven't had any experience with them myself, but I hear mixed things about the Jericho 941. Some fucking hate it, others swear by it.
Though Desert Eagles may not be practical, I've heard the Jerichos are really nice guns.
The Jericho is just an Israeli copy of the CZ-75 An overpriced copy. Just get a CZ-75.
Being big as fuck. Large rounds are not very practical.
Unless you hunt manly things in the TOP-5.
This is why I am moving out of Calfornia and going to Idaho when I get to a correct age.
This is what I did in 2005, haven't looked back.
I don't know much about weapons. But i want THIS I guess i have a fetish for really big revolvers.
Those .500 revolvers actually DO hurt when you fire them, outstretch your arms and then slap your hands together has hard and fast as you can, it should sting for at least 10 minutes if you did it right.
How am I am uninformed? Whats wrong with the 500. other than being big as fuck? And I am a gamer, but even then i have never seen a 500. on any games.
Painful recoil, extremely expensive to feed unless you make your own ammo, expensive, heavy, loud, overkill for most applications (unless you're into grizzly bear hunting) And assuming you don't have prior experience with revolvers of any kind, let alone any this massive, you probably wouldn't be able to hit anything. If you want to bypass the usual "start with a .22LR gun and move up from there" approach a .357 magnum would suit your needs. It can also fire cheaper and easier to control .38 special ammo as well. That tube can run almost a foot longer than the barrel for all it matters, shotguns simply don't spread that much. But the people who own them always want the magazine tube shorter than the barrel for aesthetic reasons. Unless you really mind the way it looks I wouldn't worry about it. [editline]10:07AM[/editline]
The Jericho is just an Israeli copy of the CZ-75 An overpriced copy. Just get a CZ-75.
The old Mangum Research guns are overpriced but the ones being imported by KBI from Israel are slightly cheaper than your usual Glock/SIG/Beretta lot. Unfortunately those variants hadn't been approved by the CA DOJ yet so they are currently not California legal. Which is a shame since they make a .45ACP version that takes 10 round magazines as standard and it costs about 500-600 bucks. The only good price I could find for the MR version. Well my opinion is the .500 is just a useless cartridge period, it's just a big spectacular round you go have fun with on occasion. It's kind of self controlling that you never want to fire more than a few shots with it since it leaves your palms stinging like no other. The guns are large and heavy, the bullets expensive, the shots loud and a .44 does the job just as well without all the other disadvantages when it comes to bear hunting. Really, like the "Desert Eagle" and other similarly large caliber guns, it's just a big expensive range toy with no real practical use.
Just put a bullet button on it. They have 'em for sale for the STG-556.
I don't want to spend anymore on the gun and I really don't want to sell anything to California unless I can make a much larger profit on it.

I don't see any other "practical use" for any gun other than when your in a combat zone. And I'm smart enough to not put myself in a combat situation ever in my life. The only reason I see for owning a massive gun like the 500. is making you feel like a total badass at the target range.
Not all guns are for killing people, or killing period for that matter, guess you have yet to learn that.

I have no idea why the .500 exists, it's worthless. The .460S&W can run 45autorim, 45colt, 454casull, and .460S&W magnum, making it a really versatile weapon. Do you know what self defense is? Do you realize you can't just "not put yourself into that situation" that it's an uncontrollable event? Do you want to walk away from an event like that or be carried away in a coffin? It's your choice, but I chose the former.
So never leave your house and pray nobody breaks in? What the fuck are you attempting to say?
No, live life without fear. Why the fuck would i not leave my house because there is a slight chance that i'll get mugged? Lifes full of danger, i'm much likely to die in a car crash then get killed in my own home by some gun wielding insane person. If ever someone broke into my home i'd rely on phoning the police and either leaving the house slowly or hiding.
