I beg to differ.
Meh. I still disagree. I think that the Henry has a certain class to it that can't be topped. Personal opinion, though.
Holy shit this thread is big but thanks for it, zombiefreak :)
I personally think the sexiest firearm is the Henry Repeating rifle.
My dad has a .44 magnum verison of the Golden Boy. It's bloody beautiful.
Yes. Enough turning this into a fast thread, though.
Is that an AR-18? No matter what it is, I want it! figured out what it is, the Stoner 63. Designed by the same company which designed the AR-18 as well as the AR-15
Same guy, Eugene Stoner, not the same company.
You are correct, he had left the company by that point.
How many 9mm's can a typical vest take (A vest SWAT typically uses)?
How many 9mm's can a typical vest take (A vest SWAT typically uses)?
Typical vest that SWAT wears can range between type IIa and III. A type III could take a boat load of them, most IIa's could as well. Thing is vests don't stop kinetic energy, only the projectile, so you get a good punch from each shot. If someone were to unload on you with an mp5 with you wearing a type IIa vest and the shooter manages to keep all the shots on the chest only you'd probably be knocked over due to your bodys natural reaction to attempt to get out of the way of what is harming it. However, with a type III the amount of felt shots would decrease (to how much I am unsure of) so once could feasibly continue to stand. Now if you were in a type IV vest you could probably take each shot and not even notice you were hit.
When you consider that the impact of the average handgun round transfers roughly the same punch per square inch as the impact of a speeding car yes, you would very well be knocked down by a burst of fully-automatic fire from an SMG. Also I'm not sure vests are destroyed the same way they are in video games. If you get hit in one part of it the rest will still protect you just fine. Bullets need to hit pretty darn close to the same impact area in pretty good repetition before they'll start going through. How many hits in the same spot would that take? Beats me.

It just looks like an 8 inch in that pic because of the camera angle.

You put enough rounds on the same spot and you'll penetrate the target.
Just perchased my self a little Maroku .22 Leaver action rifle... i'll post some pics when it arrives... Stupid 28 day waiting period.
*huge fucking Colt Mk IV*
It's nice, but I still love my SKS [editline]02:01PM[/editline] Hasn't been fired in like a year, but I took her to the range yesterday. Made some decent shots out to 200 yards, and her action is smooth as silk. [editline]02:03PM[/editline] PS I took this for a photo project, so I don't have a color version. I don't like shooting color anyhow.
Spanish FR 8 Mauser. Mmmm.
My local gun store had one of those in perfect condition with a bayonet in .308 but it was just too expensive for me.
These are a few of my babies The family excluding the grandfather
I see we have a fellow cheapskate. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
My local gun store had one of those in perfect condition with a bayonet in .308 but it was just too expensive for me.
I really want to get one, but I've already got an M1 Garand on the way that I traded my STG-556 for (along with $200 to even it out) and I'm going to use the rest of my gun money on a K31 and some ammo, or a K11.
If it gets the job done I see nothing wrong with it haha!
Yep, I still hadn't spent more than 500$ on any one gun. Counting ammo. Granted the Mossberg that I paid way too much for plus a full case of buckshot does come pretty close.
Those FR-8s are good guns though, the last of the Mausers.
Those FR-8s are good guns though, the last of the Mausers.
Stop making me want one :(
Cheap guns are sexier IMO.
But Lugers, C96s and M1 Garands aren't cheap.
I think what he means is that a sexy gun is sexy but if you got it for next to nothing it's twice as hot.
I think what he means is that a sexy gun is sexy but if you got it for next to nothing it's twice as hot.
Oh, nevermind then. Cheap surplus guns tend to be really sexy though, so he has a point.
Yea why buy 1 solid, reliable weapon when you can buy a pile of shit?
Those are all solid and reliable guns. The Nugget has history, it's sexy and it spits out lead with decent accuracy, for $80 you can't beat it. The Hi Point carbine is reliable, reasonably accurate but ugly as shit. The pistol is somewhat reliable but, well, you have a point on that one. The SKS is a wonderful rifle in all aspects as well.
