Anyone have first hand experience with Butler Creek 10/22 mags? Ive heard conflicting horror stories and praises.
what's the dealio with people going crazy for ugly and outdated guns? and no, I'm not saying tacticool guns are better. I'm just kinda sick of ww2 guns that people only know from games like medal of honour

The Garand is just a nice shooter, and the same is with the M1 Carbine. However, nuggets are really reliable and cheap.

When I had my STG-556 AUG clone I didn't have any interest in it, it seemed boring because it had no history. Also, posted this on Operatorchan but I figured I might as well post it here too just to flaunt my dick enhancers around: [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1939265/Garand/IMG_0356.JPG[/img_thumb] All that's missing is a couple .22 rifles, an air rifle, my Gewehr 71/84 parts gun I'm building, my CETME and the piece of shit semi automatic Sten I built a while back. We should get every FP gun owner to post all their guns if they haven't already.

Class III?
Golly gee mister, thats a fine MAC10 you got there. Class III?
Pff, no. I'm not spending $3,000 on a $300 gun. It's a Masterpiece Arms MPA30T, semi auto but I can bump fire it as fast as the FA versions. I'm thinking about getting a Mini Uzi stock for it and registering it as an SBR though, that'd be badass.
Anyone here willing to sell me a 1911? I can't buy from an FFL due to the whole not being 21 thing, but I can purchase one from a private seller and own it with my permit.
You have to find a resident in your state then. Just check the gun forums and you'll probably find local gun ads. Good luck though. Most people won't sell a pistol to 18-20 year olds even though it's legal in a private sale. You might be able to find someone at a gun show.
Are you supposed to store a semi-auto weapon with the bolt open or closed? My brain is nagging me to store it open for safety's sake, but some part of me tells me that its better for the spring to store it closed.

I keep all my guns closed and decocked. Though I doubt it'd make much of a difference, those springs are designed to last a life time. I just like keeping them as strong as possible for as long as possible.
Very nice collection mugofdoom; have you ever tried equipping as many of those guns on you as possible?
Very nice collection mugofdoom; have you ever tried equipping as many of those guns on you as possible?
Oh yeah, many times.

I'm going to wait to post all mine till the magwell for my 1911 gets here. Then some serious shit will hit the fan.
Interesting collection but it really lacks practical weapons. I'm going to wait to post all mine till the magwell for my 1911 gets here. Then some serious shit will hit the fan.
The Colt 604 is plenty practical, I find it much easier to handle than the standard M4 or M16A2. I don't really care about practicality anyway, though I can wield an AK or any milsurp weapon as well as any other tacticool abomination, if not better in my case, it all comes down to this: I'm a collector, not a mercenary, and all these weapons are more than enough to stop any would-be attacker or get me through the ever so unlikely SHTF scenario. When push comes to shove I don't need anything beyond a Garand or an AK to get those damned kids off my lawn.
Unless I have it transfered to an FFL, which will let me get it. So anyone got one?
How do you know that's legal? As far as I know, it has to be a private sale between two residents in the same state. That means you can't receive a FFL transfer because handguns from a FFL = 21+ only.
California law makers too.
Australian law makers too.

Magazines (if removable) are to be stored separately and unloaded. In other words condition 11. There are from 9 to 11 things I need to do to make the weapon fire. But if someone is poking around in my room like an idiot they would have to make 9-11 mistakes in correct sequence to have an accidental discharge. The levels of redundancy I follow in safely storing and using my weapons are insane, but those are the rules that I must follow.

Explain to me your idea of practical. As far I see it, he at least 7 weapons that would cover any "practical" situation.

Certainly not much there I'd want to have to carry for any extended amount of time, except for the underfold AK. For a collector, it's a solid collection, really lacking a shotgun though. I'd recommend a winchester M1897. You also really need a 1911.

They are nigh indestructible and have so many accessories geared towards them that you will undoubtedly find a combination that suits you. Not to mention the 870 is modern enough to sport modern polymer parts where useful. As far as pump actions go, you won't do much better.

Same goes for the bolt action rifles, although yes bolt actions are somewhat impractical for home defense. If the Colt 604, the SKS and the two AK knockoffs all function fine, I hardly see how they are impractical... Just saying, old weapons doesn't mean impracticality. Not everything needs to be adorned with rails and tactical attatchments to function as a weapon.

Pro said I should post a lot picture of all my guns: I have more but I didn't bother dragging out all the over and unders and sporter rifles.

RR_Raptor65, wtf is with the trigger on your 1911?
Grandpa had big hands, so he had the quartermaster make him a big trigger. That was his service pistol during the Pacific war.

It is, but I guess when you have hands the size of a dinner plate it makes it easier to shoot, my Dad is the same way.
I have a musket in my basement, it's nearly 150+ years old
