It started with the guy who did weapon models for HL1 and the original CS. He was left handed so he modeled them in the left hand and flipped them. People have been doing that ever since because it looks cooler. The STALKER series is all messed up. They have ejection ports and scope mounts where they don't belong, sometimes in ways where it clearly doesn't work. For instance all weapons have ejection ports on BOTH sides.
My favorite is when they use the forward assist on the AR as a charging handle.
get an aero precision lower (really popular atm for their cost and quality) and build your dream AR- it'd be cheaper and easier that way provided you have some semblance of ability with hand tools. Plus, you can build it on your own time when you can afford the next top-of-the-line component.
Can you recommend some good sites to check this stuff out? I googled Aeros and found a couple places but it'd be nice having some second opinions on where to buy what I need, if I go for building one.
You're calling him A kid, didn't you admit in some thread that you're 13? if so, it isn't your place to talk.
What, please point out were I said i was 13. Point in fact, these forums weren't even around when I was 13. Be careful I wasn't posting tongue in cheek. [editline]07:59AM[/editline]
I wonder if you couldn't just take the shell off of a FN2000 and build a halo gun using the barreled action...
Hurf, why don't you ask RR_Raptor65 what he's currently making ..... :P
I already said what I was working on, that's what he was replying to.
Oh someone mentioned Americans custom manufacturing oddball guns. I give you... A homemeade 7.62x51mm SVU that takes G3 magazines.
I already said what I was working on, that's what he was replying to.
Oh, in that case, give me boxes.

I would kill for that pistol. :(
gordon freeman wants to know what you are doing with his magnum.
Gordon freeman's revolver is a Colt Python in .357 magnum which acts like a .44 magnum and packs the punch of a a .500 S&W
Alot of people like the history. I only collect original, historical military guns. When I had my STG-556 AUG clone I didn't have any interest in it, it seemed boring because it had no history. Also, posted this on Operatorchan but I figured I might as well post it here too just to flaunt my dick enhancers around: [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1939265/Garand/IMG_0356.JPG[/img_thumb] All that's missing is a couple .22 rifles, an air rifle, my Gewehr 71/84 parts gun I'm building, my CETME and the piece of shit semi automatic Sten I built a while back. We should get every FP gun owner to post all their guns if they haven't already.
Did you refinish that enfield?
Can you recommend some good sites to check this stuff out? I googled Aeros and found a couple places but it'd be nice having some second opinions on where to buy what I need, if I go for building one.
I don't really know a whole lot about building ARs, but there's a shitload of sites that deal with it. After getting the lower you'll want to get a decent lower parts kit (you don't need nothing really expensive unless you specifically want a match grade trigger), and if it doesn't include a buffer assembly make sure to get one of those as well. You're better off finding a good comprehensive guide.
Did you refinish that enfield?
Which one? The Enfield No 4 Mk 2 is the original finish, I haven't touched it and never will. The Enfield 2A I cleaned the stock up with some steel wool and put some boiled linseed oil on it, but that's it. I got all my parts from Midway.

rainier arms has a lot of higher-end parts but I'm not sure how good their prices hold up to other sites

I've just figured out that in 2013 I will have enough to buy a decent .22 This coincides perfectly with my plan to get a nice car and my 18th birthday. I might get a shotgun or a 30-06 after the .22

Aren't they quite simple devices after all? Just get a piece of sheet metal and twist it to place after lasercut. Add a spring and a follower. Or is it just greedy custom shops.

JUST SELL ME THE PISTOL! On another note though you could probably jerry-rig a standard 1911 .45 magazine for it. Just need some simple machining tools.

I wouldn't even pay that much if it were made out of gold.
Fun stuff, there's a StG44 replica being made on the market, firing 7.92 kurz. Enjoy feeding that thing. The Robinson XCR is the best carbine made. No disputes. Long stroke gas system, soft recoil, bullet-proof, no special tools needed to tear down everything to the last part, 3.5 pound two-stage trigger standard. Also, no sproing noise when you fire.

Question, I currently have my Yugo Sks in good working condition and I was looking at selling it and hopefully getting around 350 for it. Then I planned on buying a Ak-74. Basicly it will be a 75$ upgrade from the sks. So I'm asking opinions.

They do technically use some of the highest grade materials available. I mean you can keep magazines loaded virtually indefinitely without the spring losing notable power.
They do technically use some of the highest grade materials available. A well designed magazine prevents the spring from being overcompressed.

We were able to put a few rounds in a .38 super mag but after 4 rounds they started to sit funny in the magazine and wouldn't feed properly when we tried to cycle them in.

It's not as accurate as most AR15s, it's heavier, it's more complicated, and it has a tendency to loosen its self up and throw parts off during extended shooting. The barrel is held on by a screw.
