Well wait a minute. There's no need to be insulting about all this. (to Ryan, got ninja'd)
Any idea how much a matching 1929 Colt Police Positive Special with 70% of it's original finish is worth?
Well apparently I am getting much more than I thought for my tax return so aside from getting a Tokarev, I am now looking into getting a nice Black Powder Revolver. Right now I'm looking at This
[IMG]
Or this one
[IMG]
Not going to Lie I might carry it once and a while but I'll usually carry the tok so these are what I am debating. (Also I do know about the leave the hammer cylinder clear and no round in it. As well as the moisture issue. I will use Wads instead of grease when carrying it rather than plinking.
I'm rather short 5'7 and concern about the long barrel is the fact I would like like a child behind the wheel of a big rig with it. But it does look infinitely more sexy than the short barrel.
While the short barrel does look quite rugged and sturdy. Possibly easier to carry but its only about 2" shorter.
If anyone has any advice on this more please do help me make this decision.
Just get something like this instead. It's much more compact and much less expensive, it will however be just as effective and make you look just as goofy. You could probably do more research and find a much more cowboy like weapon if you do so desire, but I find these models to be readily available. Also, ammo is very cheap and readily available.
Like the pistol.
Hey, I found the original old Firearms Custom forum.

A GSG? Those are amazingly lame. He should instead buy a Grease Gun or some other old C&R SMG. I can't imagine California being so lame that they would ban SMG's that are C&R.

Oh no you bet your ass they are banned.
The AWB has no exceptions for C&R guns here. You can probably get a PPSH or a STEN with a closed bolt, semi-auto only and magazines limited to 10 rounds. In other words don't bother.

Well I assume fully auto ones were banned, i'm pretty sure they're banned here too unless they're authentic and registered.
I doubt there's a problem with a semi auto thompson or grease gun in california. Small enough mag size of course.

Pistol grip.
The California State Supreme Court ruled on June 28, 2001 (Harrott vs
Kings County) that, basically, in order for a firearm to be considered a "series" AR-15, the Attorney General must specifically list it by make and model.....
12276.1. (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall also mean any of the following:
(1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(A) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
(B) A thumbhole stock.
(C) A folding or telescoping stock.
(D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(E) A flash suppressor.
(F) A forward pistol grip.
(2) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.
(3) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 30 inches.
(d) The following definitions shall apply under this section:
(1) "Magazine" shall mean any ammunition feeding device.
(2) "Capacity to accept more than 10 rounds" shall mean capable of accommodating more than 10 rounds, but shall not be construed to include a feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds.

I've seen some semi-auto PPSH replica's. Pretty awesome IMO. 7.62x25 Tokarev ammo is cheap as hell, too.

A Grease Gun dosn't have a pistol grip and you don't have to have a Thompson with a pistol grip.
Or better yet you can move and go live in state that doesn't suck.

My mistake, I was thinking of something else. I suppose the stock may prove a problem as well.

Nice rifle, and I believe you can buy rail covers to make it a bit more comfortable to hold.
Nice rifle, and I believe you can buy rail covers to make it a bit more comfortable to hold.
But can I get something like this for it?

Why not just get a front grip.
[editline]10:03PM[/editline]
And folding one too.

just buy rail covers, rails are pretty expensive and those rails are probably Troy rails (which are really high-end)

I'n gonna guess no, seeing as shooting in high population density areas is illegal, not to mention stupid.
