People whining about 0.1 version of an alpha.
Start as you mean to go on...
Wow... fans of things are mindless and zombified these days.
Apparently, 4 of my friends say that the game looks good and that they want to get it when it comes out.
I told them that they couldn't make decisions because it's pre-alpha and they showed no gameplay.
I had to explain to them that the term "no gameplay" was not literal twice and they still wouldn't listen to what I had to say.
Apparently I'm the one who doesn't listen to others...
If the game emphasized more on adventuring then building and not be a total minecraft ripoff, then I might buy it.

They're feeling optimistic about the game and therefore want to buy it.
What on earth may I ask is so unforgivable about that?
Seriously, I hate it when people get so opinionated that they're constantly convinced they're right about everything. I hate it no matter what it's about.

No, it's not that.
I'm perfectly fine with the fact that they HOPE it's good, but the fact that they're getting so defensive over it that they're telling me I'm wrong by using the term "no gameplay" is fucking bullshit.
I just wanted to point out why I didn't think they should make the decision so fast, it was them who took the argument way too far.
Yogscast seem pretty self-absorbed and I think they overestimate their own fame. The majority of people buying this are going to be within the ages of 8-12.
Its funny how quickly FP changes their opinion
Before this video everyone literally praised Yogscast and now everyone hates it and says that is is for "autistic children"
I've hated it since I laid eyes on it and every time I voiced that opinion I was dumbrated in to the ground.
I liked Yogscast before they got so mainstream.
I know I sound like a hipster, but it seems like they're just trying to monetize themselves as much as possible now, whilst also accommodating for the now ADHD-ridden 13 year old community. They seem to be releasing a video pretty much every day now, getting about 600k views on each. I heard that YouTube partners get $0.10 per 1000 views, I can't do math but that's a stupid amount of money.
I like how the $10 000 dollar donation lunch means you also have to pay for a ticket and hotel in California... During E3. I can not imagine how expensive that is.
Well I guess if you have 10K to blow on a game on Kickstarter you can afford that.

I'm pretty sure it's even more for 1000 views
Hahahaha who cares about them and there shitty games, Diablo 3, Dota 2, CS:GO, Bioshock infinite, etc... all come out this year.
Fuck them and there shitty games, ill stick with good ones.

As someone who is wallowing in YouTube nobody-ness, I can understand the motivation. Their videos are just them having fun and messing around in games - if they can earn money from doing it, it's understandable that they would do it all the time.
But at the same time, I'd like to be more of a friend to the community and a respectable host of a show and have middling popularity and a strong fanbase, than make a fool of myself for some cheap views.

But it stops becoming fun after they do it so many times. When I do decide to take the time to watch one of their series of videos, it feels like they've changed since their earlier ones. I don't know whether I've become more mature or they've just become boring, but they're a chore to watch now.

I'm a YouTube partner, there's no set rate but it kind of goes between slightly less than a dollar and slightly more than a dollar per 1000 views.

I could report that to youtube and get your partnership revoked.
I could report that to youtube and get your partnership revoked.
That would be an asshole move.
It doesn't look terrible. It would be cool if they set it in the world of Shadow of Israphel. That's got a pretty rich mythology and there's a lot you could explore.
I enjoy watching Yogscast videos mostly because of the Shadow of Israphel series, but I don't think the Yogscast deserve their own game.
There is a point where this kickstarter nonsense needs to stop, and weve clearly passed it.
Don't like it, don't donate. Capitalism works the same way, If you don't like the product then don't buy it.
If people keep doing this then the market will adjust according to the majorities needs.
Kickstarters is still in his early days and is prodding new ideas to people all around the world, you cannot expect everything be 100% top notch(C WUT I DID) quality to your liking.

2,50 per 1000 views and not even adsense clicks included
I could report that to youtube and get your partnership revoked.
How? There's no agreement against sharing how much you make. It's just AdSense.

That depends, on some days it's like that but on some days it's down to around 50 cents.
Either way they're fucking rich, and what are their expenses? A house with an internet connection and food to eat, Hannah, Simon and Lewis are sharing a house also. I'm sure they're more than capable to fund a game, if they really believed in the project.
I comment about how the Yogscast need to actually continue to do the things that they've been doing (SoI) and actually make them good again.
It gets heaps of negative comments and now my Youtube inbox is flooded with comments about how I'm a "Fag" and an "Uninformed Twat"
People need to learn that just because you don't agree with their opinion does not change their sexuality.

Well maybe true for everyone else but looking at your avatar...

He has a shotgun. That officially makes him a god.
I fucking hate these guys.
I got fairly bored of the yogscast when I was ... 16? I dont know, I just find them somewhat stuck-up and annoying but this game looks fairly nice. I've always been a fan of adventure games so hopefully this turns out well.
I have nothing against the Yogscast, but this game just looks and sounds like like a generic XBLIG minecraft clone.
ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh simon
So apparently they are pissed at Notch for some reason and made their own game? I doubt it will go anywhere.

Totally not the reason

From what I can gather Notch has nothing to do with it.
