Yogventures! The Yogscast Game - Kickstarter Video
200 replies, posted
I used to like Yogscast's mod reviews and then they got sand in their collective vagina during minecon or something and that's the last I heard of them
So apparently they are pissed at Notch for some reason and made their own game? I doubt it will go anywhere.
Crap a dull shallow minecraft clone out, exploit your legion of followers.

Wow the colors on that video are disgusting the artstyle is just a random merging of everything, it's very ugly.

Obviously the finished game will look exactly the same as the pre-alpha developer graphics.

It worked for minecraft

wait, they're asking for a quarter million dollars, what the fuck?
And the game is kind of taking half it's art direction and GUI elements from minecraft.
Am I the only one that finds any of their videos about as brain damaging as watching 12 straight hours of reality television then slamming your head into a brick wall repeatedly?

I'm watching their WoW videos now because they are decent quality, which seems to escape most beta players. It's not that bad.
Personally I prefer their podcasts than anything else they've ever done.
Note the same zombie sounds and font in the corner. This is just pathetic, I think. The "IN YOUR FACE, NOTCH" bit was just stupid and is going to start a lot of shit.

Maybe that was before/right after they got partnershipped?
I find that quality usually goes to shit after getting a partnership/machinima deal because they crank out stuff for money instead of getting something decent out.
I thought I'd point out that they've reached the target in just over a week.
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with this. Of course, it might turn out to be a pile of shit, but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.
I wonder how much money they'll end up with, the kickstarter is going to be open for about another 2.5 weeks.

you do realize it's fucking expensive to hire game devs to create a game
I don't see why people are so angry about this when they don't have to contribute to this and what harm could it do to you if they did make this game.
I also see no reason to condemn them when they are clearly trying to appeal to their greater audience which from what it seems younger children who want to live in the world that simon and lewis creates.
lol

Wow. A shitty-looking game based off of a shitty LP series of a shitty game. It comes full circle.

Words cannot describe how ridiculous this is.
i saw they met their goal yesterday, i didnt fucking believe it. the rewards they offer are also a pisstake. i want to see who's parents pledged the $10000.
I wish I could say I've seen an internet celebrity not get what they want through e-begging...
But I haven't.
yogscast show a terrible looking game, admit they're doing none of the actual work on it, and then ask for 250k?
REMEMBER FOLKS, IF YOU THINK THIS IS UTTERLY SHIT, YOU'RE JUST BANDWAGONING APPARENTLY.
Can anyone explain how the money is protected?
Couldnt yogscast use like 10K for development and keep the rest, or drag out development for years and years and then never finishing it 4 years from now but keeping all the money?
I still dont see how kickstarter protects anything.
I'm just angry with them because their name is really similar to mine, starting with "Yog"
I created the name "Yogman" 7 years ago when I had to create a name for Battlefront 2 when I was a wee boy, and now I'm always paranoid of someone just saying "YOO STOL DAT FRUM YOGSKAST" and I won't have any reputable evidence because they created their youtube account before I created mine. Although, they weren't really famous until a year ago and I created my Youtube account 3 years ago, so I have that tiny piece of evidence.
Actually, I don't think anyone cares :v:
If this game goes in the correct visual and gameplay style, it might not be absolutely horrid... But still, over $250,000 in just over a week? I wouldn't pledge anything towards this

There isn't any protection.
Hell. Yogscast could not spend a single dime on the game and keep the 250k.

Thats absolutely fucked up because I honestly believe they wont use $250k for a game.
Theres no way kickstarter just lets people do this, there has to be something in the terms that protects the money.
im surprised how many of their 12 year old kid fans were able to steal their mom's credit cards

Only protection is that your money gets refunded if their requests don't get met, but other than that once they have your money they have it.
Oh wow, they really did it.
That looks so bad.
Also I checked out that indie dev they are working with:

Can't wait.
I know this is a long way from the first page, but I love how they removed the videos and made them private so people wouldn't know the game is going to look terrible
